How weird is that?

If files are edited / uploaded etc via file stream, do the logs get populated like they do when you use the browser?

Usually my thoughts about Apple are not publishable....

 

I've been through the requirements on their website again and can't work out which one I don't meet. I wouldn't mind so much of they just said "unlucky this time" or "you're too small to bother with", it's just frustrating not to know.

Same here! The confusing thing for me was that I got the email asking for a survey to be completed by users before File Stream was enabled and then 45 minutes later got the rejection email. Didn't even get a chance to complete the survey. It just doesn't make sense!

Anyone managed to test this on a shared domain computer yet to see if it could work as an option across a network for lots of users?

What would be cool, is if you could seamlessly work with the browser too - open attachments / drive from the browser directly into MS Word, and save back directly to drive.

Got access to this today - brief video of what it looks like

 

Seems to work pretty well - I have >200Gb and loads of folders in my Drive and several Team Drive - all were picked up without any delay. Will be trialing with some Office users over the next week or so.

After receiving a EAP rejection email in the Easter break I have today received a welcome to EAP for File stream email!!

 

Not sure I want to introduce this after the fun and games with the NHS over the weekend. Would having access on the desktop to Google Drive cause files on drive to get encrypted if the network were infected with ransomware?

Presumably so, but "manage versions" (a right-click option for Office files) would allow you to revert to the pre-ransomware version.

Just got access to this myself. Installed the app and tried to sign in. Got 'Can not reach the Google Drive service. Your network is configured to use a proxy server. This might be blocking access'.

Anyone got this working behind Smoothwall?

Yes - works fine. Drive Stream appears as an app and prompts you to sign in when you run it. Does not appear to work if one user is logged in and then you switch user and another user tries to use it at the same time.

I keep getting an error 1603 message when I try to install it windows 7 32bit.

 

Worked fine on windows 10.

 

Anyone else had this?

Works on Windows 7 32bit here. Does not work on Win 10 1607 and above with Secure Boot enabled yet.
