Sims : Sims Activities module are you using it

is anyone using the sims activities module to track Extra curricular activities.

 

I Need the good and bad points of the system.

 

Personally after seeing the demo it only looks half finished.

 

Any info you have would be great.

The product has been purposely designed to be simple and easy to use by staff across the school, as well as their parents and students. In addition to providing schools with a process for setting up activities and gaining responses from parents and students on attendance, schools using SIMS Activities are seeing the following key advantages:

1. Live register, ensures that staff can quickly identify which children are on-site attending activities

2. The creation of a register for an activity provides staff with a simple way to record attendance and also ensure that children are accounted for, supporting safeguarding policies at the school

3. Immediate access to contact and medical records ensures staff have access to essential information helping to ensure the welfare of children attending activities on site and also off site, whether that is an activity or a school trip. 4. The reporting tool, allows schools to analyse which students are attending activities. This ensures that the school is appropriately provision, resourcing well attended activities, or equally identify those activities with lower demand. Schools can also identify which children are attending activities and therefore identify or target specific children to encourage participation in activities. We looked at it, got the demo but I can't remember why we said no, it was something to do with the way the register didn't really work. I'm sure it was something to do with a parent not being able to see if that child had was attending a session if they had been not been scheduled. We wanted a system more for ad-hoc drop in which it definitely didn't do. This was about 6 moths ago so it may have improved.
