Please has anyone deploy windows 10 in a school that has over 800 desktops and laptops?

Please how did you go about it?

what tool(s) did you use?

Please can you send me a concise manual on how you set it up?

Thanks all

Fully deployed to over 800 workstations and laptops Windows 10/Server 2016. Took 6 months development, lots of time on Google, lots of time reading posts on Edugeek and lots of pulling my hair out so the request for a concise manual

is deffo worth 'Kennysarmy' 55,000 bit coins!!!!

Yeh I think for all of us it was a case of use google and use YouTube to find someone else who has been awesome enough to document it.

If you want a slightly more straightforward set up than system centre you can just use MDT and WDS. There's plenty of google guides for those.

Trial and error here too. There are plenty of guides to SCCM but equally there are so many variables depending on your network that following one guide from start to end would be impossible/a bad move.

Only 500 here, but not that much difference between 500 and 800 really. We decided early on that due to the variety of kit we've got and the number of applications that we'd follow the SCCM route instead of MDT/WDS and apart from the steep learning curve (which is beginning to level off now we're 6 months into production) there are no regrets. It just works.

I found this gem: Gerry Hampson Device Management: ConfigMgr 2012 / SCCM 2012 SP1 Step by Step Guide to be invaluable. Parts of it are a little out of date but as the others have said, research, research, research and you'll get there in the end. Having some sort of lab environment to play on is critical, even if it's only an old server that you can spin up a few VM's on to learn the methodology.
