Lorfarius Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 We are under the vast umbrella of Capita for our internet filtering and having a bit of an issue with ActiveLearn. When a student logs in it opens a page to Pearsonactivelearn.com which I've added as a keyword/URL on the allow list but it just white screens with no error message. Has anyone had any issues and knows a solution?
Joanne Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Didn't they change the web address ages ago? https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk/login?c=0

Has anyone had any issues and knows a solution? We've had the pearson white screens here too. I think their site isn't used to all the traffic. We've had cases where students and my self as a test have had to wait up to 2 mins for an activity to load. The activelearnprimary is part of pearsonactivelearn but is slightly different.
synaesthesia Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Interesting, we've had a few issues with this site intermittently. Wonder if it is a matter of load.
Iain.Faulkner Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 We've been experiencing something similar....we logged it directly with them and had this email in response... Please find below an update about your support incident: Hi We have an update on the ongoing issue, which we would like to share with you: We have been working hard on the fix needed to improve ActiveLearn Digital Service performance. We need to carry out maintenance work on our servers which will take place from midnight to 6am every night until the work is completed, which we estimate might take up to 2 weeks. During the nightly maintenance times, exercises may be slow to load. Once all the the work is completed, customers will see an improved performance. Once again we would like to apologise for the inconvenience this issue has been causing you, and in the meantime if you have further queries, please let us know. Many thanks 1
Lorfarius Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Well they replied to me. Basically telling me to use a completely different browser: 1. Make sure to disable your pop-up blockers. -ActiveLearn/ActiveTeach make use of pop-up windows which is why if your blocker is enabled, you will not be able to open the Activebooks. 2. Use the up to date versions of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome -We strongly suggest the use of these browsers as we have tested our site to run best with these browsers. 3. Clear cache -If you are already using our preferred browsers, please clear the cache and cookies to refresh the browser and its' history.
Sylv3r Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 We've seen the white screen issue here too and we've moved from browser to browser. At times, it's a bit hit and miss.
kearton Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Does anyone happen to have a list of the domain(s) that need to be whitelisted for popups please?
Lorfarius Posted May 9, 2017 Author Posted May 9, 2017 (edited) Does anyone happen to have a list of the domain(s) that need to be whitelisted for popups please? Make sure that you add the following sites to your network whitelist, as well as your browser’s trusted sites, as if one of these sites is blocked in your school, it may prevent certain resources from being played to their full capacity in ALDS. The trusted sites need to be added on your browser’s settings, while the whitelist needs to be added at a network level. http://www.activeteachonline.com https://idp.activeteachonline.com/ https://www.resources.activeteachonline.com http://www.pearsonactivelearn.com http://www.resources.pearsonactivelearn.com Edited May 9, 2017 by Lorfarius
Iain.Faulkner Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 We were still having issues with Pearson Active Learn even after white listing the various sites to Smoothwall. We then discovered that we were still being filtered at an LA level and once this was removed we've not had a problem with PearsonActiveLearn since (about 7/8 weeks now).
timbo343 Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 I've already posted on another thread but thought i'd ask on this thread too.. We still have teachers complaining about the site and getting the whitescreen within the site and audio files fail to play. We've tested the site in a few rooms and cannot get it to error but classes always seem to have an issue. The sites have been added to the trusted site list via group policy and the relevant URLs have been added to the smoothwall auth bypass rule. I seem to think it errors when more than 20 users are using the site from one IP address. I'm not sure what's happening at Pearson, but it most of us are having issues, surely it's got to be a Pearson issue?
