Office 2010 refuses to be licensed

Hi all

 

out DH has updated his laptop to Windows 10 himself - which is a pain but...

 

 

anyway - he mentioned that his laptop keeps coming up saying it is unlicensed. However when I type the license key in Office (2010 ) says configuration did not complete successfully

 

I have tried several time -to no effect

 

any ideas - or ideas on where to look

 

p.s. Windows 10 is up to date - I just checked

Sounds daft, but try right clicking and running an office program as administrator and then go and licence it. Might just be a permissions issue.

Activations work fine everywhere else - but they are all win7 - does win10 use something different??

As Cache said try running as an administrator. I had a problem with activating office 2010 last week on a fresh windows 10 install and as soon as I did that it worked.
