timbo343 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 We currently use StatCounter on our site for analysis but looking at an alternative for free, mainly to see what people are accessing and downloading. Obviously seeing where they came from would be great too. I feel that there could be something out there that's better than statcounter but want to know what others are using. We have about 3,000 hits per week on our site from external users as we dont want to monitor hits from our own IP address.
Cache Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 We use Google Analytics on our site. It was just a matter of including the tracking code. 1

jdoyle Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Google Analytics. On Views there is the option to filter out IP address/range of addresses so you don't include data about visits from internal PCs, tablets etc. Google Analytics Academy has a nice set of video tutorials showing how to use features and information about best practice (e.g. unfiltered view, Master view, Test view etc)
webman Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I recommend Google Analytics too, it's pretty good. But if you're after a self-hosted solution, PiWiK is probably the next best thing.
