Recommend POE Injector

One of our POE Injector 12 ports has just died and unfortunately don't have a spare!

 

Does anyone know any decent ones which we can get fast and cheap?

 

The one that died was a D-Link DWL-P1012

Thanks just took a look on ebuyer and found this Netgear ProSafe 8x10/100/1000 SM GB Switch PoE - GS110TP-200EUS - Ebuyer

Either, Switch or Injector as long as it powers the APs i'm happy!

Can't see if thats managed or not, needs to be managed if it's a switch due to VLANs etc.

they're fully managed over the network, and have been running faultlessly for the last 3 years with no hiccups at all.

We also have 4 of these, I can confirm that they are good switches and are easily managed. the interface is very slow on them though and they don't have a full CLI (that you can get to, anyway)

It only going to be powering 4 APs and 3 IP Phones think it might be overkill!

I'd say one of the Ciscos then myself. Especially if you need 12 ports.

 

That Netgear is a smart switch. I.e. not managed. Will that do your VLAN's ??

A managed PoE switch has the advantage that you can disable/re-enable PoE on an interface if you need to forcibly power cycle an AP.

Yeah, it is a bit steep...

 

We got those as an alternative to replacing all of our switching with PoE when we had our new APs and telephony. That saved us around £20k so was justified to go with the more expensive midspan.

 

If it's only for those bits I do recommend the 8+2 port Netgear switches. That is almost exactly what we bought ours for, with the added bonus that they are silent, unlike most standard switches.

Right turns out my boss preferable doesnt want a switch unless it's HP (we have HP everywhere) but want's it under £100,

 

So looks like power injectors instead!

Yepp, managed to get it down to only needing a 4 port now as I've plugged the IP phones in locally instead of PoE
