How many IT AUPs do you have?

We all have a general IT AUP, but do you also have these separated or lumped into the general IT AUP?

 

- Parent acknowledgement of IT AUP form to sign

- Use of cloud systems permissions form for parents to sign

- Visitor IT AUP for them to sign when using any IT

- WiFI AUP

- Social media AUP

We have a staff AUP that all staff sign, the student AUP that is in their planner, and signed by student and parent. We thern have a visitor AUP covering use of any terchnology on site (even their own). They are given a visitors leaflet on arrival whihc states a copy of ther AUP is on reception for them to view

Does anyone have a separate e-safety policy or just and an IT use policy?

Staff AUP and SLA, which includes "don't kick the PCs", "the school reserves the right to monitor activity", e-safety practice (only email students' school accounts and from your school account, etc.), data protection rules and much more. It is 17 pages long!

 

Student AUP in Planners, also included in admissions process.

 

There is a separate e-safety policy, but all it really does is point you to other pre-existing school policies (AUP, data protection guidelines, code of conduct, safeguarding, safer working practices and so forth).

We have a Student one, Staff and Volunteer one too.

We have the following:

Staff AUP - all staff and regular visitors sign, infrequent visitors are given copy at reception

KS1 Acceptable Usage Rules - 7 rules that are pretty simple about looking after the equipment

KS2 Acceptable Use Agreement / E-Safety Rules - 11 rules written by the pupil council that include more complexity

Social Media Guidelines - guidelines because we know that some staff (as parents of the school) will break the rules

E-Safeguarding Policy - outlines everyone's responsibilities and includes extra stuff such as sanctions etc

 

Most of the policies were lifted / modified from the 360 safe (https://360safe.org.uk/) framework which we use to guide our online safety provision.

- Staff AUP (=Student with a few things tagged on)

- BYOD AUP (for pupils, which underlines that a) The school isn't responsible for your device b) While onsite or accessing school network/resources, your actions will be judged to the same standard as if your were using school hardware c) Use in class is at the teacher's discretion.)

 

Social media is already covered under the AUPs.

We don't differentiate between "Internet" and "Cloud" in terms of parental permissions - your kid's either allowed by you to use the Internet or isn't.

 

There are other policies, but they're more about how the school (as an entity) does things surrounding IT.
