davyboi Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Hello, I'm sure this happens at most schools, but at one particular one I support, the kids seem to enjoy dragging every app into a single folder for some reason. Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent this? either with Configurator 2 or Lightspeed MDM? I've looked and all I can see is to prevent deleting apps. Thanks Dave
Arreks Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Not sure about Lightspeed but Meraki allows you to set folders and locations of apps on the screen - not sure if this fully stops the kiddies from moving them again but I just refresh the profile every now and then. 1
RLR Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 With Casper there is a Config profile payoload called Home Screen layout. If this is configured it doesn't allow you to move apps about.

Is this using the free version of Meraki? If so then do you know where I can find a guide of how to do this please? I have searched but all searches have just found answers like this: Can Meraki put VPP Apps into folders ? ? Systems Manager Support Community saying no, it can't be done. If there is a way I'd love to know how as I just created a post asking this. Many Thanks.

MDM Menu > Settings > Edit the profile you're using > Add settings > More iOS > Home Screen Layout Yes, this is on the free version of Meraki - I'm using this for about 60 iPads. It's not amazing, but this coupled with the new(ish) feature that allows you to completely hide/disable apps (except Settings) is pretty good! no more alarms Edited October 17, 2016 by Arreks 2
snagrat Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 I couldn't see how it is possible to pin icons to the dock though?
fredbayker Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 You add them to the 'page' and then drag them to the dock bar

I hope you don't mind me asking but where have they placed the new(ish) feature that allows you to completely hide/disable apps except settings located?
Arreks Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Thank you. [h=4]iOS show/hide apps (supervised)[/h] The iPads will need to be supervised first but it's just a heading under the normal 'Restrictions' section.
Renfield-64 Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Find which kids are doing it and don't let them touch the iPad ever again. This should make an example of them.
