Pacer Router Software Driver

We have an old Pacer Router which is badged as a Techsoft bit of kit in the D&T department, the PC it was on had never been touched since I got to the school and has always worked, the inevitable has happened and the PC needed a rebuild we have got the Pacer software which will take a 2D design file and put into the Pacer CAD software to use on the Router however there is a USB connection from the device to the PC which needs a form of Driver. This is my stumbling block as I have no drivers (I got into post after the initial installation) having rummaged about no one has a driver. Its a Techsoft Routercam 1220.

 

A call to Techsoft yesterday I managed to find out that they rebadge Pacer hardware. I have since found that Pacer has been sold to AXYZ, and a call to them told me that the hardware is obsolete and not supported. I was hoping someone out there may have a driver which I could beg borrow or steal?

 

Any hints or suggestions for getting this working gratefully received.

"Rebuilt" sounds like the HDD was overwritten, but can you confirm this? (You've probably looked, but it might also be worth checking the software disk in case they're hidden somewhere).

Yes after a drive failure the PC has had a new HDD installed and windows installed.

 

We have had a look around and have installed the Pacer XMC-E software from a CD, however there appears not to be a driver on the CD, I can see the item in device manager as not having a driver, and when the USB is removed from the PC that item goes, so I know that there seems to be a driver for windows needed too.

Sometimes these units will have a third party controller which is a bit more generic, so branding can be bypassed. What does the USB device show up as in Device Manager?

Was going suggest pulling the drivers from the old disk, but sounds like that's a no-go.

 

Waiting for a load of new laptops to update, so had a search on

"techsoft" router drivers "pacer"

which threw up this page Boxford Software Updates which seems to hold some sort of drivers, but I'm in various Primary Schools and know nothing about this sort of equipment so these may be totally unsuitable! OTH, I guess if you unzip the file and tell Device Manager to look there for drivers it should only install if they're suitable.

 

Though it might just create Skynet...

I don't know if this is of any help, but here are the Hardware IDs in device manager of the offending item.
