Has anyone upgraded to the new version of Lightspeed and installed the new Lightspeed Management Agent?

I did the update last week and I'm in the process of setting up a new Windows 10 image with 1607.

I noticed today that the LMA isn't authenticating users. They just get the portal screen. Lightspeed support have been very helpful and have been connected all day today but have not managed to fix it yet.

Does anyone have the latest version (3.2+) working correctly on Windows 10x64 1607?

Thanks.

did you manage to resolve this? I am having a few problems with windows 10 and users having to login to the portal rather than being authenticated.

Not really. The problem is it appears to be random. Sometimes users get authenticated and other times not. It's a bit frustrating as it's very difficult to demonstrate the problem to Lightspeed.

Same symptoms as you. The user gets asked to authenticate manually. Unfortunately even that doesn't tend to work on sites such as YouTube (I think anything https) which don't bring up the login page, so the user just gets an error message.

All my users are authenticating but the agent doesn't always correctly keep track of the user.

Have you seen there is a new version of the agent? it doesn't seem to have made much difference to me, but might for you...LMA 3.0.2/

There do seem to be quite a large number of issues in this release, i'm hoping a new release is out soon!

We're experiencing the same as timlineuk - have installed it on about 4 or 5 PC's and it keeps 'forgetting' who is logged in , so you have to re-authenticate

Have changed the identification server to the IP address and had no issues since then ( it has only been a few hours, but previous was being knocked off every 15-20 mins ) so worth a go.

It seems to be fine so long as you don't 'switch user' that confuses it. I have the LMA running on 4 PC's and its been fine apart from one PC which was logged in and someone else logged in - when the initial user logged back in it had forgotten them - but i think that happened with the User Agent too.

I have had other issues like the block page no longer shows on https pages, the blocked page submit for review doesn't arrive despite the SMTP server test working, there used to be a function inthe report to recategorise a website by clicking it - thats gone....and the interface is SO SLOW!

vyperz - agree with you but i have had it working on switch user with inconsistent results. I've only found the https issue when transparent proxy is switched off (i believe this is expected) and likewise, even though SMTP is correctly configured and will send a test message the submit for review doesn't appear to work!

This is still with version 3.0.0 of the LMA and not the updated 3.0.2... i haven't tested 3.0.2 properly yet.

Is anyone else still having problems? Just seems to be popping up randomly all the time and when I look it just says 'Authenticated as Anonymous' (Not You) click here to log in. After logging in it works fine, but the LMA is not doing it's job. On the latest version. The IP is in the registry. Not using 'switch user'. Very frustrating. I'll try again with Lightspeed Support.

this version on the rocket is awful. The UI is painfully slow, it keeps losing the user as mitchell1981 says ( although i have a new version today to test ) the reports don't work all the time, the blocked for review only populates the day after and sometimes i can't even login to the UI.

Yeah, i spoke to them and they asked me to enable the logging on the LMA service.

Mine seem too inconsistent to test but if you've got a client that's consistently doing it it might be worth doing this also so you've got some ammo for support.

"To do this go to Services (on the local machine) > Go to properties of Lightspeed Management Agent > Stop the service > in the start parameters enter /L /O /V /Json > restart service, this will then give enough logging to help in diagnosing the issue."

the logs are stored under C:\program files\Lightspeed systems\LMA\Bin

Let us know how you get on

vyperz - allegedly RC8 was hoped to be the candidate for full release however we're still experiencing issues surrounding SSL decryption with transparent proxy as well as reporting!

Development in the states have taken a while to be convinced that there are still problems but luckily the LS support over here were able to replicate the issue. I predict and seriously hope, for my own sanity, that RC9 is released in the next couple of days!

To be fair though, i haven't found the UI to be that slow.

we're alos having those SSL/transparent proxy issues and was given v 3.0.3.2 of the LMA today which in fairness has speeded up the UI ( bizarrely ) - having too many issues though overall.

agreed - support have been fantastic though and have done what they can and i think they've been just as frustrated as we have been in trying to convince the developers in the states that there is a problem!

It is highly infuriating though, especially as we're a new customer!

did they post the new LMA to you directly or is it publicly available?

So imminent that it still hasn't appeared a week later!!

I complained to my account manager yesterday and he's apparently meeting with the head of development on thursday. Hopefully i'll have some answers soon after.

Just got this" Fast user switching (having more than one user logged into a devices at once) is a known issue that development are working on a fix for. as soon as this is resolved you we will let you know. A new RC is due out shortly which will resolve a whole range of issues present in RC. We are hoping for this this week although have no data as yet."

I assume it's a RC for the web filter and not just the LMA?

Don't know what to believe really... engineers are expecting it imminently but their head of development is saying by the end of the year (which i'm aware could also mean imminently). i just would have expected the head of development to have said "by the end of the month" if that was the case rather than in the next 2.5 months!

still experiencing LMA issues despite chaning all the service start ups to delayed. Seems to work for a bit then just stop working ( although the service is still running ) a service restart fixes , but not an ideal situation.

Got a later version of the LMA v.3.0.6 - still having issues with the users not being recognised.. this morning reporting is SO SLOW.. i have started a report just filtering one user on web activity , started it 5 mins ago and still hasnt returned the results. I want to go back to the previous release as this one is complete ****.

Have you called it into support to get them to have a look through the logs? we've had issues with it bottoming out previously and they adjusted some of the CPU worker settings.

I've just checked our reporting again and it's still fine for me so must be something localised to your rocket.
