newpersn Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I'm after a pair of Wifi Air Bridges or point to point (i'm unsure whats its called) We are doing some work and need network access about 100~ meters away. Network cable run will be around 120-150Meters so that's cable our of the question. Any recommendation. Cheaper the better. (dosn't have to be 1gb as its only going to be Net2 link and a CCTV cam)
DalekSec Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Whats your current wireless setup? As I belive UniFi is quite good for a bridge. Havent used it myself but the school has in the past.
ITGURU Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Second heads up for Ubiquiti - Never used but would love to test out the range on those as apparently are good!

Oaktech Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Unifi is good - Ligowave is excellent (but there's a price premium) Deliberant uses a lot of the same tech as Ligo but is a cut down version so is cheaper. If you arent using it for anything intensive I'd look at the deliberant propellor 5 @ £63 each. I've had a pair running half a kilometre at 33mbps for the last 18 months without a reboot! http://www.wifigear.co.uk/deliberant-apc-propeller-5
ITGURU Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 This isnt on our school network. Its on our security network. it's just a link so can be on any network - whatever its plugged into at the source just make it a member of the same VLAN etc..
ITGURU Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 net 2 ACUs can run 1km over the RS485 link...we've got a camera and Net2 going on some new gates over 100m.. For the Net2 we are using the Rs485 link of a Net2 Plus on the network, and for the camera using a POE repeater to boost the signal an extra 100m joining it at approx 40 metres from the NVR.
localzuk Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Another Ubiquiti proponent here. We've got 2 pairs of AirFibre 5's running now. One is about 50m apart, running at 400Mbit (this was a trial setup, so not actually what it is designed for). The other is about 500m apart, currently getting 100Mbit, but with more tweaking I'm sure I'll get that higher as they're rated around 1.2Gbit. For the job you're looking at, I'd be looking at their NanoStations or similar. Up to about 150Mbs.
nicholab Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I think you would be looking at Ubiquiti NanoStation loco M5.
TronXP Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 We use the Ubiquiti NanoBeam AC, seem good value for money. We have 2 links and we get around 200MB throughput and thats with our hamfisted installation. I am sure you could get better with some tweaking
