Hi,

 

I am trying to get 55 SSD's. I have priced up for Crucial before the EU vote, but now prices have gone up 10%.

 

Or would you just order less and stick with Crucial?

Kingston are fine. Wouldn't touch Sandisk with a bargepole though!

We've had 90 of the Kingston SSDNow drives for about 3 years, not a single failure.

Hmmm. Remember the bait-and-switch trick Kingston pulled with the V300? The drives are rock solid and well made (we have a few hundred V300s) but we have them attached to SATA 2 ports so the throughput isn't an issue anyway. We haven't had one failure, as opposed to the multiple Crucial M4s we had die (from a much smaller pool). We also have a small contingent of Sandisk drives, and I have a 480GB one at home. All been fine.

 

I should say - due to strong consumer reviews and good experiences, we only buy Samsung 850 EVOs now.

We've had a large number of the Kingston drives. They've been really good bar 3 which didn't necessarily fail, but the Lifetime SMART value drops to 1% which trips SMART on the connected PC. However, this wouldn't necessarily stop us from buying their drives in future as when we contacted Kingston, they confirmed that there was a batch of drives with this bug in the firmware and that it was fixed in drives newer than a certain date, also they were more than happy to replace any which exhibited this fault.

 

As for other makes, Sandisk I've had 3 different models fail on me with no warning at all, but I've had no issues with Crucial's drives however. I've never had the M4, but I have both a M550 and a RealSSD C300 which is still going strong.

Every Sandisk micro sd or memory stick i have had the pleasure of owning or working with has had issues, wouldn't even consider now.
