Redwinegirl Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 We are having a number of issues with our MIS. The system times, out, you click on a student tab and get kicked back to the search option and reports aren't displaying correctly. The MIS works fine from home, and other schools don't seem to be experiencing the issue so it seems to be something locally that is causing the disruption. Also this website kicked me back to the login screen a couple of times? Any ideas please? Thanks RWG
Michael Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Presumably you're connecting behind a proxy at school? If you tether a school notebook to your phone, again does the issue go away?
Redwinegirl Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 Apparently we don't use a Proxy at school (going on what my IT manager says) Not sure about a school notebook tethered to a phone - when my LM uses his phone everything is ok. IT thought it could be the firewall, so altered some settings and rebooted but that didn't solve the issues :-(
Banjo Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Does it work fine from home on the school laptop that doesn't work on site?
Michael Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Well a proxy in school or possibly your LA, it's still somewhere in the link. Bromcom just uses port 443 (to the best of my knowledge) - I'm currently trialling this and have had no issues like you describe. You could also try whitelisting *.Bromcom.com in your web filtering to see if this helps too.
Redwinegirl Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 Thank you - will talk to our IT chap again!!
ChristineAndrews Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Hi Redwinegirl, I believe this issue has now been fixed, if you have further queries please call the Helpdesk on 020 82907177
wedemire Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 We have a similar issue (with other sites) and its caused by our router load balancing Internet connections. If your IP changes between requests to the server some sites will force a re-login.
Redwinegirl Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 This has now been resolved at our school - thanks all
