Just wondering how many of you have used cunninghams and have used your own touch screen devices ?

The epos systems seem pricey and with budget retrains it's forcing me to review how we approach replacing our ages cashless system.

I heard some people have just put their own in. I'm not to guess about the 'device with your balance on that the users see' forgot its proper name. Just something that will last us about five years of being put in and out of a cupboard and day to day use.

I'm worried this will stop our support(although I'm not quite sure what we are paying there anyway)

Any suggestions are welcome..

To be honest Liam, we had a terrible time with cunninghams, lots of false promises. Dont see why you can buy an epos system similar to the one they are speccing you with. But you may be on their new system which we didn't have so i could be wrong

I also have been having a bad time with Cunninghams. They charge you for absolutely everything! I am pretty sure if you sneezed while there salesmen were there, they would charge you for the "bless you"

Oh I'm trying to integrate with schoolcomms now!! I'm sure info bought my own touch screen devices it would be fine. I can't justify 1100 a till

1100 a till?? Thats flipping extortionate! I will have a look at my order with BioStore and see what i paid, it was noway near that price.

They tried to charge us to update to a new version of software - £600 for 20 mins work apparently.

Had the customer service rep in our area come down and when we blasted him, he actually said it is free and should be part of our maintenance agreement.

Yes it is free !!!! Lol. But only if you buy new tills as it's not supported lol.. Great concept... Extortionate pricing!! He said that himself though.. Paying for maintenance... Yes our tills haven't been serviced in 5 years.. Bear in mind they xp too!

Lool we were in the exact same boat as you liam.

He offered us a deal to which was priced even higher than our current deal.

My issue with them was that whilst when it worked it worked well until we had issues which they would just patch rather than fix the underlying issue which escalated to a point where when questioned they didn't have an answer to except a rude customer service rep telling me that i know nothing about IT.

We use Synel Uk Cashless System, Edureg with our own touch screen devices, it works very well until now, no problems and good support.

Admittedly we run our own cashless catering software, but we find a linx 10 tablet works a treat for a till - cost was about £100.
