RM SecureNet retiring

Afternoon All,

 

Not sure how many of you seen it but:

 

Important information - RM SecureNet

As of August 2017, RM will be retiring the RM SecureNet service. RM SecureNet was designed to meet the specific requirements of the

schools, local authorities and governing bodies; these requirements have since evolved and sadly RM SecureNet does not present

the best value option going forward.

 

Still recognising that this is a valued service, we are actively evaluating alternative services with the objective to provide you with a

new service option in the near future.

 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the loyal customers who have been using the service over the last few years and want

to ensure you that RM SecureNet will be supported until its last day of service.

 

Guess that's another thing to have to start looking at going forwards

Yippy, we have nothing but problems with SecureNet and IE11 and it's ActiveX plugin.

Did this not change over to A2C a good few years ago?

We were told about 3 years ago it was going end of life and changed to a2c.

A2C (from JCQ - JCQ Joint Council for Qualifications) is mainly for Exam result downloads.

 

Securenet was for student CTF transfers, VAT returns etc.

Anyone here able to access securenet today? My sims admin is complaining that it won't load, i've had a look and it looks to me like the site is just down, but it would be good if someone could confirm that?

Just checked this morning and it seems to let me login ok via IE, so might have just been a glitch yesterday

Received today. We have ordered this after getting an email last week with instructions to purchase AnyComms+ (not sure if that's just for Cornwall though), but I thought worth passing on. Schools in the rest of the country must have to at the very least find an alternative for communicating with their LA.

 

Dear Headteacher,

As explained during recent communications, RM SecureNet will be withdrawn from service on 1 September 2017. We have been working with RM to provide a suitable replacement and are pleased to announce that we have agreed to adopt AnyComms+ delivered by AVCO Systems.

 

The deadline to purchase AnyComms+ was yesterday (12 July 2017). However, it has been brought to our attention by RM that only 28 schools have purchased AnyComms+ so far.

 

If you have already purchased AnyComms+, please disregard this email. However, if you are one of the schools that are yet to sign up, it is important that you do so by 5pm today following the instructions below. Failure to do so may affect the Local Authority’s ability to support you with census, assessment, FSM, payroll, finance and SEN as some examples, all of which rely on AnyComms+ to share information.

 

I assume the 28 figure is just for Cornwall...
