In car fag lighter socket quick charge for phone...

What does everyone else for fast charging their phone in the car? The bluetooth is killing my HTC One M7 as my fitness band and the car keep talking to the phone constantly.

Have looked at this (below), but not sure if too cheap and tacky... Current 5v1a unit chargers slower than the battery is being discharged, and the car USB port tends to have a memory stick in all the time...

I would air away from the non-branded/foreign/cheap ones, you can get interference off them with things like the car radio as I found out, if their not made to a decent standard, as I found out, its not worth the hassle for the sake of a couple of quid.

 

I bought a Belkin iPhone 6+ charger for £8 from Halfords and it keeps my phone up at full battery despite me running the Tom-tom Go app and the bluetooth between it and my apple watch all journey (I commute an hour a day here)

I use one similar to this.

 

Just check that your cigarette socket doesn't still draw power even when engine is turned off, if you leave something plugged in over night you could end up having to jump start your car.

You can buy 2a car chargers, i have one and works fine. Phone increases charge with sat nav, mobile data and bluetooth on.

I've become a big fan of Anker's stuff having used a number of their powerbanks, cables, and 12v plugs, specifically their 4.8A 24W twin USB version.

 

They also now do a 4 port version and also a 2 port Quick Charge version.

 

Which ever make or model you get though, make sure you're using a decent USB cable.

My lighter socket one has gone walkabouts (wondering if someone 'borrowed' it) so I am going to have to order another one, but worked brilliantly for me. Also have one of those mains chargers for multiple USB devices, going good and strong (unlike some others I have previously purchased).

I bought this not so long ago. Dual 2.4A USB ports. Works well and feels decent quality. Can be using Google/HERE Maps for navigation and still top the battery up.

Seems fine so far! I had vague plans to just leave it in all the time, but the manual says this is a Bad Idea. It's a PITA to get out of the socket as it's so flush!
