DJ-1701 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Ok, as per the wonderful suggestion by @newpersn in http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/171548-edugeek-pub-lunch-ideas.html and the sensible suggestion by @elsiegee40 let's see if we can kick this off and hopefully create a lovely domino effect for other locations to follow suit. Anyone interested in meeting up in the Swindon(ish) area for lunch on a weekend? Open to locations, dates and times, but after work will post a list of venues I know in the area.
DJ-1701 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Ok, I have put together a list of a few possible locations with details of the establishment type, if the parking is free or not and a link to the official website if available. As mentioned, please feel free to suggest other places. It doesn't have to be Swindon (hence the ish ). http://tiny.cc/h5gacy
newpersn Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I'll be happy with a Toby's Im open as close to Swindon. (about a 20min drive)
jdoyle Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 a few of those options are just around the corner from my house Sun Inn near M4 J15/A419 is an OK pub with free car park, nearby petrol stations if needed. Dog friendly with Coate Country park next door. Gets busy Saturday mornings as the running group I'm with use it as a base for Saturday runs. Dockle Farmhouse is OK with cheaper food. In West Swindon, Brookhouse Farm (on the list) is near to Lydiard Country Park. The Bolingbroke Arms is not far away The Bolingbroke Arms, Hotel, Pub and Restaurant - Swindon

DJ-1701 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Depends on multitude of factors (ie date) You can bring a date if you want to... (Yes, I know what you mean... he's taking his first holiday in ages soon.) I'll create a poll when I can.
