Hello folks,

We have a site-wide Meru wireless network. Our support contract for the controller and APs is due for renewal.

Is there a company that anyone can recommend to provide this? We were previously doing it directly with Meru, but since Fortinet took over we've had difficulties with their support website recognising any of our serial numbers or being able to ring anyone.

Any recommendations? I'm presuming everyone does keep their kit fully covered?

Thank you.

Capita are also official resellers so can provide support quotes, our's is due to expire next year and it's not cheap. For our controller and 120 AP's it's a shade over 3k a year. (MC4200 & AP320's)

last time I bought it (3 years ago) ours was just over £3.5k for support for the controller and 100 APs for three years. That was from European Electronique.

Switchshop or Building Zones.

Both have engineers who can reconfigure an entire networks (switch and wireless) in a day from a standing start an no prior documentation.

+1 for Switchshop. We use them and they are great.

That's hardware support only, AP320's are end of life.

We are in the same position. We have a 4200 controller and 320 aps x60. We have fortinet coming in next week to see us and talk possible upgrades. Price depending I may go down the unifi route

If possible ( as Fortinet Partners) we'd like to throw our hat into the ring for both Meru and Fortinet projects.

PM if you'd like to see if we can help

We have a school-wide Meru system, currently 35 APs (1020i) and a managed controller (MC1550) and I moved our contract to Virtue Technologies earlier this year. Very happy with their support and they are going to help us upgrade the service this summer.

Just experiencing the same issues with my kit not being listed on Fortinet support site.

This is a bit of a rant really. I needed a part replaced a while back when it was still Meru Support, no problems, no extra coats involved as we have hardware support. Now need another part replaced with Fortinet support, which was shipped yesterday but we was expected to pay Duty / tax on delivery.

Is this the norm?

Early next year I will be looking to rip out the Meru kit

Cheers

I just had this. Each time I've gone to log a technical support call I can't because our Controller isn't listed under our assets. We then have to go through via Customer Services which takes about 3 days to get a response. I made a huge deal out of it this time round and they've now added our Serial number to our account so we can log a Technical support call straight away. And they're much quicker at responding than Customer Services.
