Photocopiers

We're looking at our new photocopier lease and have narrowed it down to either Annodata or Ricoh direct.

 

I would be very grateful if any of you could share any experiences, good or bad, you have had with these companies.

We have 12 photocopiers and 20 printers on lease with Ricoh and have done for over 5 years. Great service, raise a fault and most days they are out same day to us. Toner is auto ordered when changed.

We had one device with Ricoh, and will not be using them again (no issue with the device itself, and we have other Ricoh's with another company)...

 

We had a few issues over the term of the lease, but two main ones that are the reasons we won't use them again...

 

1. They were meant to send us a new base and they didn't, so we continued using an old one that was far too high for comfortable use.

2. We had an issue with the toner, I don't think one was ordered automatically, so when we ran out they said the new one wouldn't arrive for two days - which in the main school office is unacceptable (luckily our other company popped one over within 30 minutes and we were sorted).

Our Repro department has slowly moved over to all Ricoh devices. Very happy with them and their service.

Never heard of Annodata but have used Ricoh both at my last place of work (a large retail companies head office) and in the secondary school where I currently reside.

 

The Ricoh engineers are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They can talk you through things over the phone or send out and engineer to help with non-faults such as setting up a scan to folder option etc.

 

Definitely would recommend Ricoh.

We had Ricoh direct for 5 years, no issues or problems at all Great service etc. However, when renewing this year we actually ended with a better deal going through ITech Group ended up with a better copy per page charge rate and much newer Ricoh machines (Ricoh direct 35ppm, itech supplied 55ppm ones). And fully integrated Papercut to all the devices with our existing Mifare cards. They can also link the scanners direct into SIMS, Frog, Email or shared drives.

 

Support so far been great.

Thank you for your replies. It looks like we will be going with Ricoh. My Bursar has had similar positive responses from other bursars regarding them.

We went with Canon after a tender process in January. Kit and Support has been rock solid.

Our Repro machine has always been Konica Minolta for speed - chucked out 1,233,360 pages since last august!!

We have now also moved from desktop printers to centralised printing and these are Samsung MFPs

Well we went with Ricoh direct in the end and so far they have been great. We had Papercut and RFID readers put on the machines which they set up, we provided the built vanilla server.

 

I have to say that this has been the smoothest copier install I have ever been involved in!

We went with Ricoh here - 30 odd machines. our repro guy is very happy with them (he looks after the all printers' physical needs)

 

They don't break often and they get fixed quickly. We haven;t saved any money because we print so much more now we have them

Ricoh here too. Used to be Xerox for many years but changed in January this year. We went through one their dealers, Reflex who are excellent. Machines rarely break down, jam etc and just keep going. Service is outstanding too. We have MiFare card readers on all machines with Equitrac to track usage but students can log in to it using network credentials without cards.
