Logging in this morning I can see that Meraki have started implementing the additional features from iOS 9.3

Looking in the settings menu you can now show / hide the ios apps except the settings app

I have managed to hide some of the built in apps such as Maps, ibooks, Podcasts and Reminders but was struggling to hide some of the others from the list of bundle id's shown in the meraki interface. I found a list of the bundle ids (link below) which have helped me to then hide Find My Friends, Find my iPhone, Tips and Mail.

Not had a chance to have a look at the Classroom features yet but hoping the above will help save some other people time.

Ah I thought it wasn't working yet - I guess I should be more patient

The hide apps settings are working great for me - so good to have this functionality through Meraki! Finally I can hide unnecessary apps like Clock, Calendar, Find Friends etc.

There is a bundle ID for Settings (com.apple.Preferences), but that one is blocked, as it seems is Tips for some reason.

I have managed to hide the Tips app with the bundleid com.apple.tips which I had to add as an option.

Fell at the first hurdle with Classroom app - the only iPads I have to hand to test with are iPad 2s, which aren't supported. I'll have to wait to play with this, we have some iPad Airs, but they're in constant use.

Thanks smidsy! Just retried the Tips block, and it worked that time. Must have been a typo last time.

Well, I've tried implementing Classroom using Meraki, but have come up blank.

It should just be a case of having a class set up in Meraki, Classroom app deployed on the devices, and a config profile pushed out via Settings. I've got the Classroom app on there, but I can't find a way to get the class set up using the settings under MDM | Settings | (Student Settings) | + | Adv iOS | Education.

I can't help feeling there's a part of the implementation missing somewhere in Meraki... :ohwell:

Any one else had any luck? I might just wait until this is out of Beta when there might be some documentation!

Has anyone had any luck on hiding the Settings yet?

I doubt that's going to happen, it seems to be part of Apple's design to continue to let the end user access Settings.

Thanks, come across so many sites saying to use the - com.apple.Preferences for removal of settings, but every time I try and install the profile I get an error. Just trying to stop kids from removing Meraki profile and joining open wifi's

Yeah, I tried that one myself, and it did nothing. Apple have given you the opportunity to block apps using the individual app IDs, and that is the app ID for Preferences, so there's been a lot of excitement thinking you can use those two things together. Alas, no.

You can stop the Meraki profile being removed if your device is enrolled in the DEP before you run first setup I think (not much use if retrospectively though I know!).

Has anyone had any luck hiding the new HomeKit? I was thinking it might be something along the lines of com.apple.home or com.apple.homekit
