writing image to SD card problems

Hi all

Maybe I'm being thick but

 

I have a 4Gb sd card that has been used to run a PI for ages. It has become corrupt so I need to reimage it

 

I have downloaded the most recent Raspian image - formatted the card using SdFormatter and now I'm trying to write th eimage to the card using Win32DiskImager

 

This is all stuff I have done before - but it is complaining that the isn't enough space on the disk

 

I have done this before and there was loads of space left on the card

 

So

a) am I missing something

b) has th eraspian image grown significantly

or c) something else

If the card is old and stuffed, it may have dropped into a read-only mode, in which case it's time to replace.

Which image did you download? I know noobs one is like 8GB, think Raspbian is still 4GB~

I'm wondering if the card has some duff sectors( or whatever) or something

Download this

 

USB Flash Drive Tester (free) - Download Latest version in english on CCM

 

And run the card through that.
