We now have version 5.3.25 and cannot get even the admins to connect now. The server is running 2012r2 so does not have that update, but we do have some updates from the 14th so im uninstalling one at a time to see if this sorts the connection issue.

We have noticed DLL errors within the logs and the error below all the time:

CCSS4: ImperoClientSVC53252016-05-25 16:20:17System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10.20.20.74:30016

Hi again we have resolved our unable to connect issue as after further investigation once the new client had been installed (5.3.25) staff accountswere working fine and had no connection issues, it was just our admins that could not connect.

I then created a staff account to an admin so I could get access to the groups to check and noticed that our Domain Admins group had the disable workstation ticked (which has always been ticked but was probably not working)

This has now been unticked and is now working again for admins and staff connecting.

Shame the error didnt say you are not allowed to connect as the client is disabled message :-)

5.3.25 is looking good WOL working again and the AD connect is working again.

Sadly we bought into this software recently can I can say that we haven't had a single week without issues so far! Incredibly frustrating considering the price!

Can you remote log in a classroom of computers? e.g. select 10 computers and log them all in at the same time. This feature hasn't ever worked for us but we were assured it would be fixed in version 5.3

One thing to be aware of with e-safety policy - the one we imported from impero had *anthrax* set in advanced settings to do automatic 30 second recordings of violations. Took a while to find out what was taking up the space on the server in the recordings folder! Have removed it and asked impero if there are any others set like that or if it was a mistake in the policy - there are too many items to check individually though ones I looked at don't have it set.

We've been using the software for years and until the last few months there have very rarely been any issues with the software - currently Impero is working for us so we are implementing our 'if it aint broke dont fix it' policy and not upgrading (like we would normally do) during the next half-term break.

Currentaly running 5.3.25 and all working fine apart from the computer power off policy seems to not to be working now.

Its not turning computers off after 15 mins, but if you edit the policy and change somthing within the power off policy the room then powers off  we are trying to test at the mo.

Have you had any issues with Impero console users getting the error that they don't have permission to use the console as I keep getting that on v5.3.21 and it's causing us issues since I can't seem to fix it even with a reinstall.

We only had that issue for the admin users because the group that we were in had Disable Workstation ticked in the group settings which had not been working but now is as it disabled us access.

Hi All,

I have just (tried) updated to V5.3.25 of impero. I've only just completed the server upgrade and already all of our saved settings have been deleted - i.e console access rights that have taken weeks to get right, SMTP and LDAP settings. Everything.

Just to make things even better the list of recent backups to restore is also empty so I can't just restore the settings. The icing on the cake... no one is answering the phone at Impero Support so it looks like we're on our own.

DON'T UPGRADE!

Good morning all,

Apologies that we missed your call this morning @rypowell. We have indeed picked up your voicemail and our first line team is responding to it now. Apologies for the wait.

May I re-iterate please for the rest of our customers, the vast majority of customers upgrading to 5.3.x are seeing positive results and solutions to problems in previous versions as recorded in our change log.

Kindest regards

Great to see you are on the case @Mic_Impero We have benefited from your superb support many a time in the past at my school.

Good to see you are still in the Impero Team. Some of the original Impero Team seem to have sadly jumped ship when the going got tough? Hopefully someone is now working hard at damage limitation and ensuring the superb product regains it's former well deserved reputation.

Okay @Mic_Impero I've just emailed your support, but if you're recommending the upgrade to V5.3.25, please could we have it ASAP?

I'm currently re-imaging our main ICT suite and without the aid of Impero, it's taking a fair bit of time.

Thanks!

Had the upgrade deployed today, which also cleared our settings panel @rypowell - fortunately I took a backup of the Impero Server 'Data' folder (I think they should add this to their upgrade steps).

Stopped the service, copied the folder, restarted - sorted.

Credit where it's due, this version (5.3.25) does seem to be bringing a fair few of our clients back online. So hopefully it's positive from here on out.

Upgraded from 5.0.03 to 5.3.25 today, no real issues so far besides the 'Join PIN Group' button appearing, which I was able to turn off by ticking the appropriate option in each Computer Group to hide it. Also noticing what seems like an auto-refresh when using the console software (both Console and Server) which makes it a little annoying to do anything.

Reported to Impero on Friday that we are still having issues with the shutdown function in Impero 5.3.25. They've said it's a bug and it will be fixed in the next release (I've lost count of the number of times we've been told this when there has been an issue in Impero).

I can't remember a time now where we didn't have an issue with Impero, it's driving us mad!

Our Impero was upgraded to 5.3.25 in my absence last week. All the groups, policies, clients, AD connection details - basically everything disappeared.

I can't do anything about it at the moment for fear of interrupting some exam users.

Certainly not too young. Just never heard it put that way before.
