Yeah those are pretty awesome prices. Anybody know if this works with Paxton? Should do but just want to check...

Just looked on the Authentic8 site and got this Blank White Mifare 1K Cards (Pack 100). £88. Not sure where the 100 cards for £12 is though --- ah they are the blank cards, not MiFare.

Have you looked on ebay?

We buy ours from Arena Group (the managed print guys) - 100 cards for £69. These are the 1k cards

Had a look on eBay but the supply of them appears to be drying up. Got our last load off of Amazon, but they don't seem to have many options (or stock) these days. However pricing on SmartCardStore appears to be pretty solid. I've been quoted £1/card by another supplier... hmm!

Also need a way to pay on invoice to keep accounts happy...

We use SmartCardStore because we also have them print on the reverse with a standards text of ...

I think I know where I'm going! Thanks for your suggestions guys, hope somebody else finds this thread useful too.

Still cheaper than I've been paying. I've been paying £1.10 a card.

Sightly off topic but doesn't anyone know of a cheap printer you can get to print staff photos on to the cards. Everyone I've looked at looks expensive.

We use an Evolis Pebble as the printers supported by the software we use appears to be quite an exclusive and minimalist list and so we don't have a choice (however it does scan the MiFare number into the software as it prints). It does the job and if you have a full colour card it works out well due to the layered panels of colour in the ribbon (£24 per 200 prints), however it might not compare so well if compared to a inkjet style printer on a more sparse design.

It depends what you mean by cheap really. Any card printer is going to be hundreds of pounds.

We use an Evolis Primacy, costing about £800. It costs about £39 for 300 prints, so about 13p per card.

I use databac, 100 mifare 1k cards is £40 on my quote last month

Thanks for this. They are still 40p per card but theres a £11 delivery charge on orders below £50 so buying 125 cards brings it to £50.

Edit.. my bad, £50 is a minimum order value. The £11.00 remains as standard carriage.
