A3 Scanner

Hello,

 

We are after an A3 Colour Scanner possibily with a Automatic Document Feeder for our D&T Graphics Department and also Reprographics department.

 

Can anybody recommend a decent scanner? We did have a cheap A3 Mustek but it wasn't that good. I've looked at the Epson GT-15000 which seems ok but a little expensive.

Rob I'd recommend the Epson GT-15000, our Media and D&T department both have one.

 

They're pretty durable in the education environment too.

Do you have any colour photocopiers that can be networked? Could save you having to buy additional kit.

 

I'm sure we have a GT-15000 here, had no complaints. It was expensive to buy, I got it a while ago when I was given a fairly large sum of money to spend on kit without time to consult staff or plan a wise spend................

+1 for the networked copier/MPF option. The ADF option is what sends the price of the GT-15000 through the roof. I'd question that you have that volume of A3 copying to justify an ADF on a dedicated network or host-attached scanner. We hardly ever use our Epson GT 10000, just do all our A3 copying and printing on our toshiba copier which can do everything but make a cup of coffee, allthough it does cost a pretty penny as we have it on lease.

I agree with both sides, I have some GT-10000s and they are great scanners, very reliable bits of kit, and I also have a few Toshey Colour Copiers that we use the scanning on, and they are great bits of kit and not badly priced at all.

+2 for the networked photocopier - get rid of some printers while your at it

Got a couple of GT-15000 and also trialling a NIC in one of the scanners as well, needless to say that isn't cheap either.

Indeed I also agree with both sides. Networking the copier isn't a bad idea. If you're looking to purchase an A3 scanner designated to a room then the Epson's aren’t a bad option if budget allows.
