Hello. So I don't work in education anymore, but I do use Dataverse a lot for building applications etc. If you are using a Canvas App or Power Automate to connect to it then it's a Premium License. You would also need it if building Model Driven apps. Not sure what education pricing is, but sounds about right for the standard pricing. They use to do a PowerApp per app plan too. So if it's just one app that you wanted to share this worked out cheaper than the standard plan that allows unlimited apps to be built. Bare in mind licenses only offer so much capacity per license (additional capacity per GB can be brought seperately). Also some Dataverse entities/tables are protected and need a D365 license. Per typical Microsoft there's very long guides to licensing on Power Platform.

Error message when transferring curriculum and timetable to SQL

It's been a fair few years since I've touched NT6, but is it saying that you've used lessons registered against sessions that are marked down as registration sessions? If I remember it's on the cycle screen where you right click and set the type? It's been around 8 years since I last touched it so I could be completely wrong here. -
I'm guessing it's definitely not an older switchable ATX Power supply where you have to switch between 115 and 230 volts. Did it break on the same power socket output - just wondering if there was a wiring issue on that socket / ring main. Did the company test the system before shipping? Just in case it's a bad batch of PSUs. Also is the PSU specced for the amount of power draw the PC is in? Just thinking has he plugged something else in (whether external or internal) after the unit was shipped that may have caused the issue.

Just a thought, does Microsoft still do the free upgrades to Windows 10 from 8.1? According to this (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/upgrade-to-windows-10-faq-cce52341-7943-594e-72ce-e1cf00382445) the offer expired 29th July 2016, so if it's the first time you upgraded to Windows 10 then I presume it won't get the free automatic activation as the date passed quite a few years ago.

So apparently this year I’m the number 3 buyer of Fajita kits in the West Midlands. I do like them, perhaps a little more than I realised. A couple of years ago I was No 1 in the store for Chicken Fillets and No 3 for Poppadoms. -
I've been having similiar issues with drop-outs which I'm still investigating. I've got a Unifi Dream Machine with the main Sky Q Box Connected via Ethernet, and UAP-AC-IW (Wireless Uplink to the DM) with a mini Box connected via Ethernet too. Initially I found that the Access Point after a while started to route traffic through the Sky Mini Box (through the mesh network to the main Sky Box). Using the Sky Engineers menu as previously mentioned I've disabled the Wifi and thus this has stopped it running data through the Sky mesh network. However, I still get occassional drop-outs (Wifi Signal is strong). Any devices connected to the UAP-AC-IW continue to be connected via Wifi and can ping the AP, however, Internet Access stops working to these clients. The DM continues to work fine with both Internet and Wifi devices but reports the AP as being disconnected. After a while it fixes itself but if I need to restore it quicker power cycling the AP usually fixes it, however, the Sky Mini box then complains and the only way to get it working again is to power cycle that too. I've had the Unifi gear since the beginning of March.

Frog hosted onsite, no contract no access?
robknowles replied to highsky's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Yes, I would check the T&Cs. When we brought the original FROG circa 2010 I believe it was an upfront licence, but when FROGOS/FrogLearn came out in 2013 ish I believe they moved to a yearly licence fee model. -

Hello, Has anybody got Biostore Readers attached to MFDs (we have Sharp 5141) that links with Papercut MF please? I want to be able to setup ID Print to use the email address field in Biostore and pass this to papercut. However, selecting this field doesn't appear to be working. If I choose another field such as BioStore ID (and add this to papercut for a user) then the login works correctly. If I attach the USB lead to a PC running notepad to see the output for the email address field it doesn't appear to be outputting anything if a . exists. Thanks, Rob

Hello, Do any schools use a 3rd party for auditing IT in school? Specifically in relation to policies and procedures, as well as testing of security etc, not for auditing what IT in terms of hardware we have and trying to sell us new equipment! It's something we are keen on doing here, to ensure that we are doing what we need effectively. If anybody has any recommendations on auditing companies that would be great. Thanks, Rob

Hello, I've setup a cPanel server (perpetual license for education is just $30). We will give each class at KS4 a generic login, and at KS5 it will most likely be a dedicated login. Sites are only accessible internally - stops the potential for unsuitable stuff being externally accessible. Thanks, Rob

Hello, I still have a number of these 15" monitors left. They will need collection by the end of next week. They are £5 each. Thanks, Rob

Hi, Dell also have a lifetime warranty as well. For our core switch/router we have 2 devices. A PowerConnect 8164F - 48 x 10Gbits/s ports and 4 x 40Gbits/s ports. This links all of each edge and top of rack switches together. I also have 2 x PowerConnect 7024F that are stacked together - this acts a secondary/backup switch in case the first one dies/crashes etc. All edge and ToR switches are connected to each of these two core switches. The 7024F is gigabit only - but that's more than enough I feel as a backup switch. For the ToR Switches in one rack we have 2 x PowerConnect 8024F, another rack are 2 x PowerConnect 7048, the final one has 2 x PowerConnect 5048. We have 5548 & 5558P (PoE Version) in cabs. These are all stacked together so I can manage each cab switches as a single managed stack, which naturally makes management quite easy. Cheers, Rob
