SteveB_NI Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Is there any jobs / tasks which you have all put off due to lack of time, but always planned to catch up on at some point? I'm just going through old summer / easter job lists which I make for myself, and the amount of things such as equipment cleaning / checking which has not been completed since is crazy... purely due to time constraints!
Gatt Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 yeah - recabling our cab's... gonna make a start during feb half term.. then more in easter half term (which, thanks to Salford, is actually 2 WEEKS after easter! )
localzuk Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Recabling our cabs too. But I have now put it down as our summer job for this year - so am getting specifically funded to do it too, ie. buying new cables to replace the random dodgy ones that exist everywhere and removing the 5m cables that go 4 inches between a patch panel and a switch.
DevilsAdvocate Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Projector cleaning is the main one here. It's difficult to get in an clean them when they are in constant use during my normal hours. Infact, cleaning of any equipment in the classrooms in general is a pain. Rob

broc Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Updating network documentation so that someone can pick up the pieces if I fall under a bus.....
greenfieldsupport Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 What network documentation :S :\??? Still have that on my to-do list. I was lucky that the last Network manager stayed on here for a year on a "consultancy" role a day a week .

broc Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 What network documentation :S :\??? The network documentation I inherited when I took the job is all of two pages of A4......... it is barely more than a map of the school showing cabinets and the location (allegedly) of all of the network points.
elsiegee40 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Is there any jobs / tasks which you have all put off due to lack of time, but always planned to catch up on at some point? Apart from the ironing... ? Oh, you mean IT jobs There's that pile of useful hardware type things in my room - I need to find what does and doesn't work The pile of software CDs - what's useful and what isn't - file appropriately Getting to the bottom of exactly why BBC Schools website causes IE to crash intermittently Just about everything the Pre-School lands in my In-Tray I have actually sorted out the catalogue heap - it went in the recyling box in its entirety!
