It will only be available for CC4 users, and there has not been much information over on the RM Communities regarding general release date yet as they are still field trialling it.

From what I hear, it isn't far from release - When you log in for the first time apparently it will ask for your authentication details and then stores them in the user profile. That's as far as I know. But, it is a step nearer to blocking USB sticks :)

and might only be for CC4.5 users too.

Yeah its being trialed at the moment, I was told it would only be for CC4.5 users if I heard our man right.

Looks very promising with RM Unify SSO along with GAFE and O365 integration look out cloud cos here we come hehe!

This is what I have been waiting for and its nearly here woopee!

This is where I think RM are going wrong. Why limit your market, if it would work on Vanilla networks (at the right price)? Makes no business sense at all.

Unsure about this product, but I know they released RM Portico for vanilla networks.....

As to whether the product's any good is a different matter, but considering a high percentage of school networks are not RM CC4, from this perspective it makes no sense. I couldn't imagine a whole school would move to CC4 just because of this OneDrive App, although I'd love to be proven wrong! :)

I can see why they are developing it specifically for CC4.5 at present, as it means they are working off a known configuration.

Hopefully they might release it for other networks once it's out there.

It would make sense, they are happily supporting Unify on Vanilla setups. So this may be following the same logic, CC4 first then vanilla.

I've managed to download and install this now but just keep getting an error "Cannot map drive, contact your network manager". Only tried on admin accounts first.

Has anyone got it working?

Cheers

Can anyone point me to where the download link for the mapper is please?

If you go to your email account on rm.com and choose software downloads and it should be in there.

Instead of mapping a drive directly to OneDrive why not have a hybrid solution where your on-prem file server (or a dedicated Windows VM running windows 10 and logged into your on-prem AD domain) has the OneDrive sync client installed and syncs the shared drives to OneDrive on one account.

If there are too many changes per second for the sync engine to cope then you could split the load amongst several VM's each with a different onedrive account. Would also split storage quotas too.

Microsoft should offer a enterprise class sync client for file servers. So you get the best of both cloud and on-prem storage.

Spoke with RM and as we are CC4.3 their mapper isn't available to us!

Now trying a solution whereby I create a mapped drive on the DC, create a symbolic link to a folder that I can share and then deliver that via group policy / RMMC.

I'll let you know how it goes :p

You don't need CC4.5 as it can be used with CC4.3, however you do need a CC4.5 license.

Yeah this is true. They said we could purchase a "CC4.5 pre-license" but as this is only for 1 user we cannot justify the cost. I cannot see why RM can't just give the mapper!?
