Hello guys,

I have a problem with my server that I work on. I had errors while doing the backup saying that the -letter of the destination drive example (H)- is not connected to the PC. I have had many issues with finalising backups before but nowadays all of them happened to fail, so I investigated the issue and found out that the USB driver on the server is out of date and is indeed causing the problem as all external backups are connected via the USB ports. I have tried many possible solutions, downloaded drivers and tried updates, but proliant updates failed no matter what I did. So I want to ask you guys what you recommend me to do, download the whole service pack or what? If you came across this problem and found a solution please respond to this thread.

Thanks

Replace the cable

Install it to a windows 7 machine or windows 8 and see if there is any usb errors

It sounds like the USB HDD is old and on it way out unless its a casing which you could try and disassemble it to put it in a USB CAD

Worth a try
