always hands, though i do remove the 300 onion rings that they all seem to come with now.

Ah, but do you remove them with your hands or a knife and fork? ;)

Onion rings? Where?! :D

Remove top bun with hands, then remove onion rings also with hands ;)

Why is this asked? Burgers should always be taken in hand and used to allow as bigger bite as possible.

Must be a southern dilemma.

Next you will be telling me you eat Dairy Milk Bars with your hands...

What tends to happen with me, is I will grab it, eat it and I end up with sauce all over my face and hands, but I tend to not care...

It's a cupcake. GIR loves cupcakes. :D

Left over food and sauce needing to be cleaned up? Is that why you have EduDog? ;)

No way. I lick the sauce off myself. I imagine I look quite the sight. I'll have to find the picture of me eating chicken wings!!

Always hands. Can't stand pub or restaurant burgers that are really tall, that's an instant fail. Not to mention those burgers usually tend to be overcooked and dry with a cold bun. Yuck.

A burger should be handheld, a bit messy with a soft toasted bun that holds together

I found one of me demolishing a burger in 'Murica.... my caption with this one was "That determination.... if only I had this in other aspects of my life!"

I have some sympathy with the OP here. Recently it seems that there seems to be a concerted effort to set some kind of altitude record when it comes to burgers.

Many restraunts are now trying to outdo each other with their 'tripleburgerchickenwithcheesehasbrownsigniturebacononionringsandsecretsauce'. it's getting to the point where you'll need some kind of mechanical handling equimpment to pick it up without displacing any of the contents.

I notice the the McDonalds in Preston is now one of the lucky ones serving their 'Signature' range: Signature Collection :: McDonalds.co.uk

This has been introduced due to customers now going elsewhere for quality burgers since chains such as Byrons and Five Guys began to expand. I may just have to check them out.

It's a bit weird they chose Preston though as we don't have any of the 'posh' burger chains in town anyway!

Depends on size for me, i generally tend to avoid ordering burgers in a restaurant/pub. Because of the mess it will get in.

Had a Frankie and Bennys breakfast yesterday, Stateside stacker, that was a knife and fork jobby. (Thick bun, Sausage burger, potato rosti, fried egg and bacon). The top part of the bun was an inch thick itself!

Calorie content alone is worrying for these new heavy loaded burgers. I wonder if burger height is going to be the next big Health and Safety issue though. ;)

I have to say, I've never see anyone eat a Burger with a knife and fork.

Also, people complaining about towering burgers, have you tried squashing? Place palm on top of burger, push down, then clamp to size with both hands. Then wrap your face around it quickly before it expands back to original size.

Yes but if you have sauce and whatever in there it goes everywhere!!! :( ¬.¬

A slow squash will result in the sauce merely dripping from the edge, this decides the "falling edge" of the burger that must remain over the plate at all times.

Oh, oh! We're on the way to a 'method' for eating burgers!

Who cares, as long as you have clean hands, i have seen it before at different locations where some folk try and eat finger food with a knife and fork and they look ridiculous, fingers all the way . . ....licking those fingers after is part of the ritual of burger meal consumption...

I normally have away with that shiny thing they call a bun and just eat the filling with cutlery.

That, sir, is a heinous crime.

Depends. I usually go full caveman wherever possible (much to the disdain of the other half) but if it becomes utterly ridiculous and it looks as if there has been some kind of burger bomb dropped on where I am sitting by the time I am two mouthfuls in I will give in and chop it in half with a knife and fork

BUT NEVER ANY FURTHER

At least with Burger King and McDonalds everybody else does it so that's when.

You get so little in some of them I can squash them down to a sensible size, that's if they're not already squashed already.
