Hi,

I have downloaded Windows 10 ADMX to install on server 2008 r2.

When I try to copy to the C:\windows\policy definitions it says you need permission. I'm logged in as admin. The owner is TrustedInstallers but I don't want to change that as I read its not a good idea.

How can I install the ADMX?

I've also looked in our \\domain\SYSVOL\domain\Policies but there isn't a PolicyDefinitions folder. If I made one in there will GPMC be able to find it?

Thanks

This is where you create PolicyDefinitions and copy everything into it. This will then replicate across all your DCs.

Yeah, don't copy them to C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions. They need to go in \\domain\SYSVOL\domain\Policies\PolicyDefinitions (along with the en-US folder inside that which contains the ADMLs).
