cherd84 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Hi everyone, Does anybody know where I might be able to get these from? Screwfix/CPC/Maplin all don't have them. Only place I've found them so far is a private seller on Amazon which school aren't usually keen on using. Thanks
LeMarchand Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 How many do you need? If only a couple there may be some old Dells lurking around one of my schools that I can look at. 1
glen_j Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 i buy a lot of my screws for personal stuff from here Machine Screws they're pretty good search for MF-MS21P/10 they are m2.5 x 6mm they might be close enough. 1
DalekSec Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 What wrong with amazon? we buy 90% of our supplies from them, from replacement laptop screens to access points
cherd84 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Thanks guys. I'll check out Machine Screws @glen_j I've asked our finance dpt if we can order them from Amazon. Nothing wrong with them at all @DalekSec I've bought lots of personal bits and bobs for phones over the years but school just not keen on using it for whatever reason. I'll let you know @LeMarchand if I get told no!
stitch Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I purchased screws for our laptops from Precision Technology Supplies Ltd | PTS-UK.com If that is any help. 1
eyetea Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 There's a brilliant shop around not too far away from us in Surrey called Margnors - We usually take in one of the screws / bolts we need and they just match it. Pricing is also brilliant, and you can buy in whatever quantity you need! Just 1? Not a problem... Need 1000? Not a problem..! 1
cherd84 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Thanks again guys. I'll check out the other sites. I only need 7 at the moment. Had a refurbed laptop that was waiting to be issued but needed to liberate a couple of parts from it after another one of the same model got dropped. A lot of the screws that were in it were M2s, not the M2.5s that Dell use. They had been really tightened to make them take and now I can't get them back in.
difinity Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 I've got about 70 of those screws here, I can drop 10 in the post to you if you like. 1
