Sid Mier's Alpha Centauri. Magnificent game, everything that was good about Civ 2, plus unit design, wondrous monologues, epic management on a global scale. One of my 5 favourite games of all time and considerably better than Beyond Earth which was lacking in depth :(

Elite Dangerous. Another brilliant game, you get out of it exactly as much as you desire. New crafting and mission structures due in a few weeks will make for a more absorbing experience too.

Star Wars Empire at War: Thrawn's Revenge Mod - Complete re-working of my favourite RTS, new tech trees, new factions, many new planets. Hours and hours of fun.

I'd never played the Far Cry series before until I picked up Far Cry 4. I'm really enjoying the open nature of it, and don't find it too difficult (I don't have time to play that often so aren't that good!)

Now that I've seen the badger, I'll definitely be getting Far Cry Primal, but not until it comes down to £20 or less, which will be in about two months no doubt.

My youngest got portal knights at the weekend and it does look pretty good.

BTW my Mrs is very happy about you guys suggesting POE as it has eaten a serious amount of my time over the last few days (its ok, I bought her "the long dark" on the xbox so that should distract her for at least another week :) ).

POE was a very good fit for what I was looking for. Very simple to get started with and easy to play the basics if you have played any ARPG before. The passive skill tree and the way the skill gems work and interact though is seriously awesome and adds so much depth and customization. Then when you get to the item gearing and crafting there is yet another layer of customisation and things to learn.

I found a blackmaws talisman really early on (think it may even have been act 1 on normal) and initially didn't realise how good it was so left it in the stash. Was only much later that I looked at it again and figured out it trebled my DPS. Still waiting for it to not be good so I can use what I was planning to but still adding about 600dps at the moment (at level 52 in Cruel act 3).

If you like PoE then can I also suggest Marvel Heroes 2016? It just relaunched (hence the 2016) and its a very enjoyable Free to Play game. Mr Totalbusicut live streamed it recently (hence me revisiting it) and highly recommended it. Something he hardly ever does. Also it has Deadpool in it. :)
