SimpleSi Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 The Dark Lords recently upgrade Sims on bursar's machine (small primary) but said they couldn't do it on the 2nd laptop we use as it was win10 as that we wern't to use it until April upgrade Any REAL reason that I can't carry on using the Win10 machine (like it'll corrupt the database or something!) Simon
Steve21 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 There's a bunch on here that use it, but don't think you'll get any 100% answers as always a chance something' toast in it End of day if you're been using it already pre-upgrade and not had a problem you shouldn't really as you carry on as you already had that "risk" of it breaking, but obviously each to their own Steve 1
DrCheese Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Been using it on Windows 10 since the early beta's. All it means is that Capita have the right to refuse support should you have any issues with it on that machine.
sparkeh Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I haven't had any problems with it. Though I won't put it on any mission critical machines until its officially support by Capita as I know if we have to contact our LA sims support team the first thing they will say is its not supported.
PhilNeal Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 The only issue I've heard of is viewing the reports in the new browser. 1
sparkeh Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Funnily enough, just had a remote session with the LA and they didn't mind it being on Win 10 at all
SimpleSi Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 its only only for the part-time 2nd sec to do registers and stuff like that - thanks everyone
dapaulio Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 i use it on my windows 10 machine regularly deployed through SOLUS 3 and for what i use it for i use it without any issues. There must some quirks still with it as capita do not support windows 10 yet. the problem you face is if you do have any problems with SIMS on a w10 machine they will just tell you they do not support it rather than help you
thimon Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I think there's issues with SIMS and Office 2016, exporting reports and such. But SIMS seems to be working fine for me on Windows 10. 1
