I think the implication is that PowerConnect switches are so bad, even buying Netgear would be an improvement. Which I can't really argue with given @Roberto's and my experiences with them.

 

Whereas Procurve switches are actually good.

No. Not "fixt". *Whoosh*. We have over 40 high-end Procurve switches here and I like them a lot but that isn't the point I was trying to make.

I've got some older Netgear switches you can have for a modest fee if you collect them or arrange a courier.

They are JGS524 24-port gigabit unmanaged switches. Way better than hubs :)
