jcookhgs Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Only seen the announcements briefly but on the surface looks like you either need an MDM in place or for the shared ipad the devices need to be either pros, air2's or mini 4's.

Our development team is actively working on support for iOS 9.3 and Apple Classroom in Mobile Manager. We often have to make difficult development decisions and always take our customers’ needs, platforms, and products into account when we do. For example, with the large number of customers who rely on us for filtering, we were the first (and still the only) company to support Apple’s iOS 9 filtering. In addition, we have a lot going on across all of our products: an amazing new Web Filter 3 platform, which is coming to general release this month, powerful enhancements to Classroom Orchestrator, MDM for Windows 10, and enhanced support for filtering and monitoring Chromebooks, which our customers are adopting at record numbers. All of this has caused a slight delay in our iOS 9.3 support for Mobile Manager. We have always provided zero-day release support for iOS in the past and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. We anticipate full release of iOS 9.3 support within Mobile Manager in August. 1
Garacesh Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 The issue I take with third-party MDM solutions isn't so much a problem with the third parties, it's just the way Apple 'do things'.. You're only allowed to manage the stuff Apple lets you manage, and it all has to be done via Apple servers, no matter who you go with. So basically, all MDM solutions are the same (one or two might throw in a few features like automation, so it automatically issues commands on a timer, but nobody can ever provide additional functionality until Apple say they can) Do we know if this is still going to be the case with 9.3?

Casper Focus (which does most of what Apple Classroom now does and has been available to use pre iOS 9.3 and works with iPad 2) Apple Classroom Shared iPad Active Directory (Lightspeed MDM alone does not do this) Apple School Manager background sync with Casper MDM If you are a Lightspeed user then I suggest you complain to them about lack of support for iOS9.3 not Apple

Usually Lightspeed are ready on release so bit disappointed they are not with 9.3
Brimstone Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Like all solutions, what you pay is what you get about £9.50 per device per year, plus JAMF have a mandatory remote installation which is around £750.00. I have plenty of schools both primary and secondary who are successfully using this. 1
