Printers - Sell or Recycle

Last September we moved to a managed print solution and all works well - which means we have large number of printers sitting around doing nothing.

 

We have been toying with the idea of either selling them or finding a recycling company that will take them off our hands in exchange for cash.

 

so...

 

1. For those who have moved to a managed solution what did you do with your old printers?

2. If selling... any hints/tips/gottchas?

3. If recycling... any recommendations?

We are moving to a managed print solution in the next 3 - 4 weeks. It is our intention to offer them for staff for a donation which we will give to charity. Sold as seen, we will only provide toners for what we have spare or what remains in the printer.

A local school to us did this and sent out emails to local schools asking If they wanted to buy any printers for a small cost.

We bought a nice hp 3105dn for around £12. Bargain.

We held a bid option for some, some staff got bargains and money went to charity, others have been part exchanged by the print company as such and others have been disposed off if at end of life.
