I'm going to get some cable tidy units I think, but I'm not sure if I should get brush units or the cable tray/box type units? Recommendations? yes its literally a metal plate with 4 screw holes and a large hole on the middle with a brush fixed on the back personally i hate cable trays/clips better off with short cables and brush plates and just pull the cable you want if you need to do something cable management trays just seem to end up being a mess Edited January 13, 2016 by sted 1

HarryMonkey Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 When I moved here 8 years ago the cabs were all over the place (I even had two cabs side by side, one with patch panels and one with switches and a whole mess of spaghetti running between the two, others had just had cables patched in and left as they were plugged in. I moved the switches and PPs so they were in the same cabs and tidied up the cables. Here's the before and after pics. 3

Wan't to get one for my rack soon right im infront of it at the moment there are no obvious model numbers on top/front/sides but the label on the bottom says it a avocent dkmmled185-201 (so I assume dell shove some stickers on it and call it a dell something or other and the label confirms that)

MatthewL Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I used a combination of 0.3 and 0.5 and it worked well but we used to do 3 panels switch, 3 panel switch as not all our points had stuff on, we were lucky our buildings were over populated with points. 0.6 gives you a bit of slack if you need to move things around but keep it all going.

We went through the main cabinet(s) and all the edge cabinets and recabled them with 0.5M patchs and 1M Patches for uplinks etc (different colours).Due to space shortages we couldn't get blanks or cable tidy trays so we used copious amounts of cable ties. Much,much better now and so much more aesthetically pleasing!

Sheridan Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I don't know about you, but I cable these cabinets up with matching colours and the best intentions in the world, but a year later theres odd coloured cables, loose cables and missing cables all over the shop! 2
