elsiegee40 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I have looked through the Bett Exhibitors List and cant see Edugeek on the list. Are the going this Year? BETT stands are hideously expensive. The bigger wealthier suppliers tend to sublet a bit of their stand floor area to smaller suppliers who can't afford a full stand. We have been with smoothwall for the last few years.
bald_pig Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 If I remember, they weren't listed last year either?
elsiegee40 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 If I remember, they weren't listed last year either? That's because only the exhibitors who formally lease a stand from the event organiser get a listing. The sub lets are a private arrangement and the event organisers don't list them... Possibly don't know about them.

theeggmaster Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I'm going down on the Friday, staying overnight and going to BETT on Saturday. I'm travelling down from Newcastle, so if anyone has any good (reasonably priced) hotel recommendations with good transport to BETT, I'd very much appreciate some advice.
Net-Ctrl Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 We're going to be at BETT again on stand C63. This year we've got Ruckus, iboss, MOBOTIX and Traka on our stand with us. Hopefully you'll all be able to stop by and say hi!

Joanne Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I'd love to go again. Had to take half the time off unpaid last year though and self fund the travel. Don't know if they will let me... but I'd fight it harder this time!!
thimon Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I've never been but have registered for it, will ask line manager if I can go. Me on my lonesome in a place full of strangers! Although Frog are putting on a free lunch for us!
RichCowell Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 I'll be there on Thursday to Saturday, booked into a hotel just down the road (Crowne Plaza), and driving this year so just booked my car in to a car park that's between the hotel and Excel... really looking forward to it...

London has good transport and so far no planned DLR issues on that weekend so the roller-coaster will take you right to the doors of ExCeL... Hotel wise, all the ones round ExCeL are usually a total rip off, the geeks stay somewhere usually on the DLR and close to London as ExCeL isn't the best spot for any form of night life (by that we mean food and drink other than the hotel bars and the venues run by people as part of the ExCeL complex). Travellogde's are usually good value around London, Tune Hotels are another chain of cheap (but watch out you pay for everything including a towel!). So don't be scared of travelling about a bit it really isnt too bad and with the opening time of BETT you just miss the commuter crush, by 8:30 / 9am its getting much quieter (I commute past the routes to ExCeL daily) so don't worry too much 1
AJWhite1970 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Travelling up by train on Thursday after work, at BETT Friday and Saturday and going home Sunday evening. Work has booked me in the same hotel as usual, the International at Canary Wharf

Last year I stayed at the Holiday Inn near King's Cross, which gave me decent access to the train home, and I could manage the Tube/DLR from there. I was just wondering if anyone had any local knowledge that might be any better than me just Googling places. It would be nice to get out for a meal, rather than staying in the hotel. I was warned that the nightlife at the Docklands wasn't the best.

Hang around the edugeek stand at the end of the day... the stand staff, who have been on their feet all day, need food and drink and hangers on are always welcome. It's not exactly organised, it sort of just happens, but we do need to eat!

ICTDirect_Dave Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I'll be there from tuesday (John is taking the monday and will be putting most of the stand together on his own). Looking forward to this year as I had to miss out last time.
foofighterjim Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Just booked my train ticket for the Friday
X-13 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 What day is everyone going? Looks like I can only go for one day this year [boo!] so I need to sort out which day I want off for it.
