That battle scene was amazing, so intense and really gave you that sense of confusion and suffocation. Also Daenerys finally getting to her full power with the ability to actually be a threat. She has no reason now to spend the whole of next season sitting around doing nothing

 

The only bad thing is that I can't see how the next episode will be able to top that one and it is the last one this season so will be back to the long wait for next season to start.

Yes, hoping that she actually does something next season (though all the sitting around is book accurate!). Mind you there were hints that she's starting to turn into her Dad, so maybe she might turn out to be a bad 'un.

 

Apparently that "suffocating" scene was a last-minute addition when rain had turned the location to a bog and so the planned action was impossible. Worked out pretty well!

 

The season finales tend to be a bit quieter and set up the next season. They have been banging on about what could still be under King's landing, though...

 

Apparently the final 2 seasons may only be 6 or 7 episodes each .

During that sequence it looked like a certain person was attacking one of a pair of combatants, and then the next (so one from each of the two sides). Was that me, or was he supposed to be in a berserker rage?

Last episode was amazing. After the battle in the previous episode I wasn't expecting too much but so far that last episode has been my favorite.

 

My predictions for the final 2 season.

Next season:

 

• Daenerys finally comes to claim the throne and there are massive navel and city battles, wildfire is used and Daenerys is probably hit by it and is unhurt just to prove how badass she is. Euron sides with Cisei after Daenerys rejects him and he destroys a good chunk of Daenerys's forces at sea.
  
• Cirsei will become more and more unstable. During the battle between her and Daenerys, Cirsei goes over the line and Jamie kills her and then kills himself.
  
• Bran, Jon, Sansa and Arya are reunited. Arya and Millisandra also run into each other again, possibly at the same time as meeting the hound and brotherhood without banners again.
  
• Daenerys and Jon join forces, Jon gets a dragon leaving one left which I hope goes to Tyrian.
  
• There will be a battle for the wall which the white walkers will destroy using the horn of whatever it was called. That will be the end of season 7.
  

Last season:

• Ice Dragons??? There will be some big reveal that gives the white walkers a way to counter the threat of the dragons. Otherwise it will just be a case of the dragons flying around toasting the entire white walker army.
  
• The last season will be all about the whitewalkers destroying everyone while the humans try to regroup and hold them back.
  
• Sam will save the day with something he finds (maybe a way to construct a second wall?) he does something awesome with the sword he took from his father.
  
• At least 1 dragon and their rider will die, probably Tyrians while they are doing something brave.
  
• Very last scene Arya, Jon, Daenerys (and Tyrian if he is still alive) are all celebrating when suddenly the all get eaten by the dragons, the dragons then go berserk and glass the whole continent because this is game of thrones and nobody survives

Considering how close I was to not watching the show anymore I am glad I stuck around.

 

Will say though, I hope Jamie lives to the very end at least to see how his character develops further. As if to say you can't be selfish any more and have to earn the right to live not given on a silver plate. To do what's right regardless and that he has been allied to the wrong people.

 

I also believe that one of those Starks will be killed, after all everyone else is being killed left right and centre. I'd be surprised if 3 of them lived to the end so I expect two to be killed one each season...

 

Still.. it's hard having to wait now for the next season. This is why I tend to wait till shows are done and dusted before I watch them but thanks to social media it's impossible to.. without spoilers. Other half is on season 3 or 4 just after the wedding... and she already know that Jon is alive.. yet we all remember what came of the Lord Commander.

Jamie is one of my favorite characters, the writing for his part is brilliant and the actor is one of the best in the show (imo). The character is a complete piece of trash and a terrible human being but he has such charm and does just enough "nice" things to make it so you can't help but like him.
