So i understand and ours is one of them but their recommendation is really common sense... make sure you clean the filter.

 

That says to me that someone hasnt put the filter back correctly. The instructions/recommendation is literally showing you how to take the filter out clean it and put it back.

I have a tumble dryer, might be in the market for a new one. Dropped it down some stairs in house move at the weekend. Havent switched it on yet in fear of it exploding lol.

 

I have just read on the internet though, MInes an Indesit... and that particular model has been recalled. SO I may get a new one.

 

Mines a condenser one.

I can't find any reference to a filter in my instruction guide. All I can see is a pump which can be cleaned if need be, but it is self cleaning.

Is yours a vented or condenser?

It's usually behind the kick strip at the bottom of the appliance if there is one. It might be worth a google... or a search on youtube... for the precise model to see what it throws up

5 year warranty which is nice, i don't have an area for a vented one so it has to be condenser but the heat pump ones look pretty nifty and cheaper to run, your thoughts?

Oh wow in the comments, this is the epitome of first world problems:

Because the tumbling always starts cool and gradually warms up there's no option whereby you can give your pyjamas a quick 5 minute tumble to just warm them up a bit before wearing them.

Grundig GTN38240GCW is not a Which Best Buy

 

Pros: Energy-efficient, excellent at trapping moisture inside its water tank

Cons: Can leave loads damp, slow cotton drying, very noisy, clothes come out quite creased

 

Their cheapest Best Buy for a Heat Pump model is £609 Bosch WTW87560GB
