localzuk Posted December 17, 2015 Author Posted December 17, 2015 Plenty of flat, some interesting hills that can have various things done, inc walkways/bridges, wooded area nearby which can be turned into farms etc... Plus, plenty of distance from everyone's bases.
LiamHaith Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Well, after the catastrophe that was last night. I somewhat recovered (albeit slowing down my progression somewhat massively). This morning I upgraded my Passive Power Generation some more. Upgraded to 1x Hardened(?) Solar Panel. It used every last drop of resource I have, so I'm hoping my quarry (which I also managed to integrate into my ME system, thanks for the 64k Drives x2 whoever it was) will have some fruits for me tonight. Tonight I'm going to be attempting to get a little BigReactor set up which should allow me (with the regulator setup on my quarry) to speed up my mining and get a slightly more... stable power source. Currently the only time my power is somewhat stable is if it's Sunny and mid Storm. Also, thinking of setting up a Semifluid Boiler for my Creosote to be consumed as and when I have some. Ideally tonight, I'm hoping to be able to decommission my Stirling Generators and run a 50rf/t regulated Quarry.
Garacesh Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Urgh, I should really start looking at reactors, but I'm not using nearly enough power now.. a 9 million capacitor bank (thanks for the extra 3, @LiamHaith ) and a lightning rod (which basically just acts as another 16million RF battery.).. I just don't actually have a requirement for more power, with the single exception of my Ender Quarry, as my charcoal farm can't quite keep up. It's probably at about 90% efficiency, but it is burning through charcoal quicker than I can make it.
LiamHaith Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I think tonight Gara, you need to help me in the setting up of a Tree Farm, mainly because I'm really lacking in brainpower due to lack of sleep lately. This morning I planted a Sapling and went "Farm's Done."
Garacesh Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) Well the setup I'm working with is pretty kludged: 3x upgraded windmills, 12x leadstone solar panel and 1x triple water wheel provide passive power to a Harvester, a Planter and 2 Redstone Furnaces (which, contrary to their name, are not powered by redstone.) A harvester chops down the leaves for the trees, passes any saplings down to the planter to re-plant. If the planter is full, excess saplings are siphoned off into a high-temperature furnace generator, which burns 1 sapling per tick and provides 400 RF per sapling. Apples are siphoned off into a betterbarrel, barrelbox, whatever they're called, from JABBA. I'll find a way to ferment them for more RF somewhere down the line. Logs are fired down to the two redstone furnaces, that burn them into charcoal. This is then passed down to an upgraded barrel(thing) that holds up to 16,384 items. (264 stacks.) From there, the charcoal is pumped into 2 regular furnace generators and one high-temperature furnace generator.* This passes 460RF/t into a Tesseract, which is connected to another one in the Underdark, that powers my ender quarry. Items from the ender quarry are passed into the tesseract and sorted into chests depending on what they are by using item filters (5x iron ingot, 1x chest, 4x paper per item filter) There's bound to be WAAAAY better ways of doing it lol * Regular furnace generators burn items slower than High-temperature furnace generators and produce 30RF/t, but high temperature ones burn items quicker and produce 400RF/t but produce less RF overall per item, so are less efficient. LiamH Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Logged in for the first time in a while yesterday, portal room should be fixed, need to set it up to auto fill on on ender pearls but didn't have much time.
localzuk Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 I emptied a bit of your experience out yesterday @LiamH, the XP beads were hanging around as there was nowhere for them to go and were producing some lag.
Garacesh Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Ohh, is that what it was? I told you there was lag
localzuk Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 Ohh, is that what it was? I told you there was lag Wasn't the main cause, just one of a few small ones.
Garacesh Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Wasn't the main cause, just one of a few small ones. Was it you? Were you the main cause?
localzuk Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 Nahhhhhh. I don't make lag! Ok, my network of Ender IO conduits is huge, and overall conduits on the server add 4ms to the tick time, but its not me...
Garacesh Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 4ms for everyone combined? That's not too bad, actually.
localzuk Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 4ms for everyone combined? That's not too bad, actually. That's *just* conduits... The normal tick time is about 25ms for everything when there's nothing going wrong... So, yeah, 4ms is a lot for just conduits lol.
DJ-1701 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Oh right.. Err.. Download more RAM Will 4GB (GiveaBaaas) be enough?
Geoff Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I don't think any of the other item transport systems are much better. Maybe AE2 but I'm not sure.
localzuk Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 I don't think any of the other item transport systems are much better. Maybe AE2 but I'm not sure. I think its just down to volume. There's more than 6000 bits of Ender IO conduit in the world at the moment...
Garacesh Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I've tried to keep my cable runs as small as possible, but then again, it's not going to be my base that's causing a problem It's going to be huge bases.. Like someone with their ivory marble tower...
localzuk Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 I think Immersive Engineering's power cables have gotta be pretty low lag, as they only connect every 30 blocks for HV lines. Dunno though, not got enough data to find out!
Sephiroth Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 True but you need 4 of them to every 1 Ender Energy Conduit to get the same capacity
localzuk Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 The HV lines carry 30k+ rf. Ender conduit maxes out at 20k.
localzuk Posted December 19, 2015 Author Posted December 19, 2015 Work on EduVille has begun. We now have a welcoming portal building and a fountain. I've also set up some basic power and a bit of storage (though that is set up wrong), and CJ has built a wind mill. Going for a Skyrim sort of theme.
jedmondson Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Not sure if i like my farm or if it fits into the theme. Think it has to meany windows. Also the roof might be to light.
ADMaster Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 The tavern has come along way. Things that still need done to it. Fireplace furnish / make rooms upstairs cellar needs dug out more, has stairs down to it. windows Possibly move bar forward and put in a kitchen area more decor shelves etc.
Garacesh Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I set up a mine and accompanying outpost, and a blacksmiths.. I think I'll revisit the mining store though, it's a bit bland and I'm sure I can do better.
