Does anyone know if it's possible to import data such as home address, name etc from SIMS into FMS Accounts Receivable? Been asked by our finance dept but I can't see any way of doing this.

SIMS Fees automatically pulls in the name of the student(s) being charged, their linked Bill Payer (for us usually father) and their address. You can set the billing address to Home, Work or Other and customise one if you want, which we do for some companies who foot the bill.

It's all linked by pupil references and payer references. We set the pupil reference to the admission number for convenience and have a script to do this.

I think this data which is in SIMS - Fees module, can then send summary data and post it to FMS. You can do all this in batches, from charges to invoices. I don't think the line detail goes over such as the address, and names, it's all linked by batch numbers, so just say a daily (or more frequent) summary that updates the ledgers in FMS. This updates the running totals. The batch number allows you to trace back the info in SIMS Fees where you can see the line data and chase payments for example.

I should correct myself there, it doesn't automatically pull that info in. The lady in admin goes through the student and ticks the box under the contacts section to say they are a bill payer. This then opens up other screens and provides the linking required between modules.
