Lenovo Refurb laptop - Core-i5

 

For £110 each, with a SSD drive (around 30-40 depending on size required), which you'd have to buy and install separately, they absolutely fly... May also be worth investigating the wireless of whatever laptop you buy, nothing worse than fast laptops that have a slow/unreliable wireless connection!

 

They don't have a trackpad however which makes them a dog to use!

 

Granted they're a decent price but i'd pay the extra £40 and get the bigger and better T410

Yep, scratch my suggestion and go with Dave's with the SSD as an option and you've got yourself a rapid laptop!

Do you really need the charge to last all day - or could a top up over lunch be possible?

 

In my experience that would boost it just enough

 

HOWEVER - obviously the batteries will degrade over time and in a few years they will not lats all day - so make sure senior management know this and allow for battery replacement in a few years time

In an ideal world wherein I could rely on the teacher in charge to make sure their laptops are all plugged in at the end of period four, we could get away with a 4-5 hour battery life...

 

Meanwhile... in 'actual teacher world'...
