Destiny - Playstation 4 Raid Team

Hi Guys,

 

We are currently playing Destiny and are close to being at the point to start looking at the Raid content, however we only have a team of 4, myself and squeeky and 2 of his friends. Is anyone else finding it hard to find some players and would like to join us.

I'm up for helping (time allowing). I've already gone through the first 2 raids (Vault & Crota) so I've already got some experience there.

 

I do have to agree though - getting a team together for raiding is frustrating at best. I think on the Crota run my team made, we ended up spending longer putting together a group than it did to actually do the damned raid. (the second raid is a lot shorter though). Luckily - you go through 'checkpoints' which save until reset on Tuesday and you can re-join at that point on another day.

Check the psn thread for my Id. It resets each week ? Ahh man why did we bother !!! Also I have a spare copy of the original game that I want rid of obviously doesn't include the expansions.

I need the Taken King, i bought Destiny a couple of months ago when i got my PS$ not realising the sequal contained all the old bits.

 

Went to play it last night for first time in ages, and everything is now "Expansion this, Taken King that"

 

Worst thing was i didn't realise how close i was to completing the story, i literally had the last mission to do! and i die far too much in the Crucible to enjoy playing.

It resets each week ?

 

Yes - every Tuesday, at 10:00 over here - all raids, weekly heroics, 'earn x for a week caps', etc all reset. The nightfall and it's bonus for completion also reset - meaning if you're going to get the most out of a nightfall (bonus xp for completion), it's best to do it earlier into the Destiny week so you earn more from it.

 

Events also generally start and end at the reset as well (except for Xur, the tentacle faced git that he is appears on Friday @ 10:00 and leaves on Sunday @ 10:00).

 

Those of you looking to pick up the game new or if you have it without expansions - If you buy the Taken King disc, it comes with ALL expansions up to that point, meaning you'll have everything for cheaper. The only way to get Taken King by itself (if you have everything up to it already) is through the online store.

I'll see how our setup's looking, think we've already got 5/6 for our team with Stumps and Shaune, Project's got another group he runs with when I'm off doing something else, so we've probably got a 6 stack we can run with.

Currently got a 34 Titan and 34 Hunter. Just started a Warlock with a work colleague that's just got his PS4 so i'll probably get that to 34 too eventually.

I had pretty much given up trying to play Destiny because not being able to get people together to do RAIDS. I Don't play on my PS4 that often but would be happy to join whenever I do although I only have the Dark Below expansion if that makes a difference.

I think Dark Below will provide access to both the Vault of Glass and Crota's End raids. I think the House of Wolves DLC just introduced the Prison of Elders and Trials content which to be honest i've not tried, managed to buy codes for both on ebay instead of paying full price on the store

I'm heavily invested in Destiny. Got all expansions. Know Vault and Crota raids quite well and just stepped into the King's Fall raid for the first time. I try to get on as much as the missus will allow. I have 2 fellow gaurdians who are up for helping others through content.

I thought that was the case. Birthday at weekend so hopefully have some money left over to get Taken King for myself and my bro.

New raid (what I would call) essentials:

 

1) A mic. The new raid requires a buttload more communication and importantly coordination than previous raids.

 

2) Be 285 light and have a high impact sniper (quest 1000YardStare, the Black Spindle or this weeks gunsmith EireneR4) at 290+. Oryx is 300, every % is 2.5% less damage and there's several other DPS checks in the raid that now cant be compensated by a few ghorns.

I think I was just after completion pre-expansion. Probably not even high enough to join lol.

To be honest CAM the new Taken King stuff has completely changed the game, my level9 Hunter is now level34 and that took a few hours doing story missions and bounties.

 

Almost all of the Year1 legendary and exotic stuff I had is useless until I get the update as the green uncommon stuff i've had drop has higher attack/defence stats.

Grind Grind is the answer most purchasable stuff is 280 so need drops in strikes i think.

Instead of spamming 30 engams at once and hoping for a legendary with the cryptarch, decrypt one at a time and equip anything that is higher light level. He will decrpyt engrams around your light level. You can creep up to 300 light on all blue gear with this method, no need to spend any legendary marks for 280 gear.

 

If you're just starting out in TK, the best bit of gear to spend 150 marks on is a 280 ghost. They can be transferred to other characters and you cant get decent ghosts from many sources.

 

Do the daily content, they give 30 marks a day. The weekly crucible give 10 x 3 per week and heroic strikes also give 10 x 3 per week.
