woreilly Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 A few years ago, a former colleague of mine started some R&D into Office 365 (our organisation knew diddly squat about it back then) and he started setting up a school that he supported. It ground to a halt halfway through when the original admin account for their original tenant was locked out. He had setup their domain and had it verified with the TXT record and then setup ADFS for SSO. If I try to sign in with [email protected], it redirects me. However, the box that it was setup on, died on it's backside about 6 months ago. If I try to sign into the original tenant account that's locked out, it allows me to begin the process of resetting the password. The big fail is that the rescue email my former colleague put contains a typo in the domain name and therefore no verification codes will come through to that email address. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get into this account? One suggestion was contacting Office 365 customer support to see if they would grant access or delete the domain from O365 for us. Another was to get the school to get a new domain name entirely (which sounds more hassle than it's worth).
witch Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I find the customer support quite good, particularly if you can escalate it to second line.
Edu-IT Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 You are usually able to send codes by SMS / Call too?
woreilly Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 You are usually able to send codes by SMS / Call too? That is my next step when I can get hold of what I think is the phone number attached to the locked out account. When my former colleague left, his phone was handed down to the person who replaced him. That person has also now left so it is gathering dust in the admin manager's drawer!
EduHobnobs Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 When you get in, make multiple admin accounts.
