Those 1970s 5 nations matches were my upbringing on rugby. That Welsh side was amazing.

England number 14, Peter Squires, taught at my school, but I still followed Mum's lead and supported Wales.

.

My dad managed to break several sofas over the years whilst jumping up and down cheering for Wales. Not that you really needed to - they won anyway!!

In a world cup you had no choice but to go for the win so I understand completely why England did that, you cannot aim for a draw and rely on things like bonus points it has to be a win, we came alive at 60 minutes and finished a little stronger on what was a fairly equal game throughout and going down the wire kick for kick, I even then thought that it was likely something stupid was going to happen for us and we were going to be second place until Charteris locked it down near the end that was the sign for me.

I don't think England or us are particularly strong as a team compared to previous efforts, though the pressure on England in their own world cup must be absolutely horrible.

One thing I liked, its the most emotion that I have ever seen out of Gatland and it was quite touching to see how choked he was after that when interviewed, our injury list is worrying and grows with every game here.

Worst thing after that Win, I fear that we will do something daft like lose to Fiji, which we have form for.

Australia are a worry for England and us too, their playing well at the moment and their backs look very sharp

The Times is really going for Stuart Lancaster and Chris Robshaw this morning... not entirely fairly in my opinion. Having watched all the home nations play now, I am loathe to admit it but the Irish look like they have the best chance of the 4 in my opinion

Message to moderators - can we please ban Welsh people for a couple of days??

Including Witch from the look of it

Since you are talking to @elsiegee40 and me as mods, do you really think we are going to ban ourselves?

Nope because I support Wales too... and the chances of the Scots, like ZeroHour, not enjoying the Wales victory are small... and he is one of the two EduGeek directors ;) :D

Bah!

Wales were rubbish for fifty minutes, then they were decimated physically for ten, and then they did what the English never seem to do: they changed their game plan. Losing at the scrum? Losing at the line out? Then bloomin' well avoid them and go for a different approach. We English seem to have a game plan from kick off and doggedly stick to it come what may.

Frustratingly, these English game plans often seem to include "continue to push boundaries at the breakdown even when it's clear that the ref is having none of it". The English forwards are like toddlers in a game of hide and seek, thinking that if they can't see the ref then the ref can't see them so I'll just get this hand in here...

Fair play to the Welsh to come back from a ten point deficit, with all those injuries, in the enemy's home ground, and win like that. Stuff of legends.

If we've learnt anything, though, it's that the Welsh starting line up should be replaced by the bench you bring on for injuries. Clearly they're the better players :p

Morning everyone - what a glorious day it is here in Wales. The sun is out, there is not a cloud in the sky - oh yes and Wales beat England - despite the ref being off his game, and despite England pushing in at the scrum and being off side most of the game.

I think England had sussed Wales out at the start but at the end Wales sussed England out. Yes we changed our game plan and threw the ball wide.

"Sam who?" Sam Burgess can go back to rugby league with that sort of arrogance. It may all be mind games - but that sort of arrogance is why all the other teams support everyone playing against England.

Mike Brown should be ashamed of his interview on TV - petulant, stroppy schoolboy stuff from him. He was a bad advert for the England game (but a good player when he gets going).

Farrell can stop doing that stupid hand signal when he scores a kick. The fact that they lost just makes him look stupid.

I do feel sorry for England. Ahhh who am I kidding - I don't. If England had won the papers would be full of it. The BBC were a bit off point yesterday. 5 news stories and then in quick, silent voices - "Wales beat England". If England had won it would have been first on the news. but Oh no.....

Still - in the spirit of rugby - England lost. Get over it. Move on. I'm sure there will be victories for England against Wales in the future - but for now.... we'll take it.

Gareth
