We have access to pretty much everything; from every one of the hundreds of thousands of documents and millions of emails ever created in School. We have access to CCTV systems going back weeks, electronic gates, cashless catering and weblogs for hundreds and hundreds of users. SA on the SIMS database. Basically we hold the keys to all the data -but none in the office ever knows when the last day of term is, what time is period 4, or when lunch starts.

Is this the same for you guys as well?

Not a problem here as I look after the web site - so it is me that puts the term dates on and updates the 'News' items to remind parents what the end of term arrangements are

 

aka when we are all going to kick the kids out so we can go to the pub!

I barely know what day it is - let alone what time the kids change lesson, terms start / end etc.

I have the timings of the day printed and stuck above my head on a cupboard. Very useful when planning a raid on the staffroom for cake/biscuits. Also useful for knowing where a kid that turns up at the door should be.

Have a automate message that plays across the school when the lesson start (and lunch, break and home time) so keep track of the day not to hard, but keeping track of the training days and last days of term rarely happen.

 

With the number of new staff this year I have found myself asking "who was that?" when they had left.

It is weird like that, because we as support don't stick to the traditional timetable of the school for majority of our work, i have even started ignoring the bell of late as it seems to have faded into the background.

 

Whereas everyone around us is timetabled to the 50 minute slot for everything usually.

We have an online staff directory, which is a list of names. If you click on a name, it shows a big picture of them and gives contact details (phone, email address, etc). We also have a page which lists every staff member, grouped by faculty or role. Even the cleaners are on it. This list includes a really small picture at the end each line in the table.

 

Strangely, on my PC one of the pictures doesn't display, but the html source shows it is in the table. Fortunately I know who she is and what she looks like.
