Had our SQL upgraded on our SIMS and PARS server over the summer and now both are absolutely creeping!!. It was a little slow before the summer so i upgraded the RAM from 8gb to 32gb.

Getting alot of complaints. Logged a call with the LA for advice

Anyone got any tips on whats causing it and anything to change?

Surely its not just me!

God knows what it would have been like if i`d have left the server at 8gb RAM

Cheers

Did you move your databases to SQL2014? If so, I've had this problem. Setting your SQL instance to SQL 2012 seems to sort it. Capita are aware of this "feature"

Let me know how you get on!

If you go into SQL Management Studio, expand databases, right click on your SIMS\PARS database and go to properties, go to the options tab and change the compatability level from SQL Server 2014 to SQL Server 2012 on the drop down.

Cycle the SQL services \ reboot the server and away you go at normal speed.

We have exactly the same issue, staff are reporting that both are slow and we had the upgrade over summer. Be good if you could feedback if the above has helped in anyway.

SIMS database was already set on compatibility mode, but PARS wasn't changed it this morning and started to get reports that it appears quicker.
