Could do with more detail, but sounds like .NET framework to me. I'd try reinstalling .NET and/or try the .NET repair tool.

Does the same routine work in SIMS work on another machine? If so then it is the workstation that is the problem and given it says about the SQL Client I would maybe check ODBC to ensure it works. Also have you run SIMSInfrastructuresetup.exe and ticked both the SIMS and FMS? If not then run that through first to see if that sorts it.

A work around may be to make the changes through the school diary, if possible. I've encountered issues at several schools in the past where I was unable to edit the academic year. This was the method I used to get round it....

Thanks for the replies. I've tried your suggestions, but still no joy. I've since found that a virus has corrupted some of my SIMS setup files, so I'm guessing this could be the issue, as one of them was the Pulsar application. I'm going to try replacing the setup files and see if that does the trick...

Did you find a resolution? I found out the issue I was having was a simple fix - not to have a gap between one academic year and the next... My dates were simply not matching up. :whoo:
